Crypto Fueled Social Media is the Future
After spending some time on D.tube, Minds and Steemit i realized that crypto fueled social media is going to be much better option than current existing platforms. YouTube, Facebook & Twitter all suffer from bad tag & category systems, which lot of these crypto fueled systems have fixed.
- Also i think Facebook, Twitter & YouTube have created monetization systems that are inherently unfair for creators or offer bad split (55% Of adrev in YouTube's case). People who publish viral content on these platforms should deserve a cut of some sort. All 3 also have become less useful who link stuff outside their platform
- Censorship is big issue too and PC culture, which is artificially trying to manipulate which content gets up rather than having upvotes or the community decide what is best. Steemit has pretty good answer for this, however upvotes can be manipulated to a certain degree
- Privacy is 3rd issue with existing platforms requiring phone verifications and all types of private data shared with these marketing departments that just gonna leak your private info to people
I do think it's very important that social media will become more private in future and we will have platforms that integrate sensible monetization systems without censoring people, is it that hard really? Well as knowledge of crypto improves and as places like steemit make it more new user friendly i think the platform will flourish more in future.
I agree with your sentiments in this post. Self-monetization and immutability of content are valuable and desirable components of a social network. STEEM is on track for much higher adoption as development continues.
Well said, STEEM can be huge but it needs some adjustments. Perhaps engagement should play a part in what becomes trending
