Lazy fingers and how they kill a platform.......Upvoting is job #1

So i have been on steemit for about 8 months now, and while i am going to rip some people a new "one", i do want to go on record as saying how i love the platform, but its killing me to watch it slowly die after such a good run. Make no mistake it is choking on itself and needs correction or it will die.

I been watching very closely at who does the upvoting and to whom, with less then par findings. See i feel this platform is way misused by the whales. No not all the whales, but over 60% of them easy. Look at who you are upvoting. Without pointing anybody out. I see the exact same posts by the whales, sure the stats and graphs are different but there is no work done to them from day to day. These posts are getting 100's of upvotes, and many comments that are worth replying to and deserve a return upvote. Steemit works best when somebody has a topic to speak about and has followers to read the content and react. Now unlike other platforms the content maker can reward the reader, But we just dont see it. Did your whale upvote your comment? did your whale upvote anybody that commented? Take the time to look, If you dont see that they have, go look and see who they are upvoting. You will not be surprised to find they upvote themselves more then anybody. Let me explain what this is doing. Your whale who can make somebodies day with just one upvote and give them hope to continue on the platform, they have become dormant. These whales (again not all) are not upvoting there own readers, in fact , you will feel like many of them use steemit as a cash cow with little to no interaction. Good thing is, they go down with the ship. Their steem has flatlined as a result. Dont follow those that dont upvote their replies. Do you really need curator rewards when the platform is choking? Make no mistake the whales are pulling in money and your posts are not seeing hits or hardly any upvotes. Correct.

In short, keep it simple. follow those and upvote those that actually read and comment with you on the topics you like. Dont follow people who don't upvote their readers its just a waste. Some are amazing at it, eco-somebody i forget his full name, is the man and does this very well. I personally have upvote everybody in a chain i read, just because. Sure my vote is still worthless, but i am trying to do right by the platform.

Stay positive, upvote until the cows come home even if you hate what they say, are they reading and trying? then upvote them. Just be mindful of who is doing the platform justice. And keep posting, i will keep reading and upvoting as normal.
