The 0.1 BTC Challenge
I just opened a Steemit account to see what it's all about and hopefully be able to learn from and share with others in the crypto space. Twitter only allows so many characters, so Steemit will allow me to get more in-depth with my thoughts. In trying to think about how to start things off, I figured why not keep a record of a challenge with myself. So...
Presenting the 0.1 BTC Challenge!
I'll take 0.1 BTC as far as I can. I'll take three of my recent trades from my personal portfolio to start since they make about 0.1 BTC, technically it's 0.10574097, but it's cleaner to say 0.1. This is what I allow myself to "play" with as a trader to fill that hole of needing to make moves. I have my mid-long term stash that I hodl. When I make gains from my trading stash, I use them to buy more for my long term stash, trying to keep my trading stash to around 0.1, thus the "0.1 BTC Challenge."
Will start posting thoughts on why I decided to get in/out of trades. I use both trend and fundamental analysis, but with trading being short term, TA will have more weight than FA.
No "end" date in particular, but let's say the end of 2018. Since it's from my personal portfolio, I'll still be trading long after the end of the year.
To start Day 1, here's the portfolio view of the Starting 3:
For reference, my current mid-long term stash is:
- ICX - Icon Project
- DRGN - Dragonchain
- QASH - QASH
- REN - Republic Protocol
- ELEC - Electrify.Asia
- OCN - Odyssey. This is more short-mid term as I like the technicals and waiting for a nice pop
- SWH - Switcheo. Got in ICO and bought more on exchange
- SPD - Stipend. Masternode/PoS coin that's giving me good ROI
- FOR - FORCE. Another masternode/PoS coin that the community is reviving that I'm holding until 10x+
**UPDATE - I realized that since I usually only keep around 0.1 BTC as my trading stash, it'll always be around 0.1 BTC! So what I'll do is keep the BTC gains (hopefully) in this portfolio, but in reality, I'll have transferred that BTC to my long term portfolio. Hope that works!
As always, this is not financial advice and is simply a way for me to record my thoughts and trades. It'll keep me accountable. It'll hopefully also force me to not overtrade because I know that if I make a trade, I'll have to record it. I need to learn to exercise patience and let my trade analysis play out.
