Here’s an interesting piece just published on the legal issues of Americans and token sales (https://medium.com/@coinjob/why-are-u-s-icos-scared-of-the-sec-272e2b60c1fa) . He explains why token sales need not be concerned about the SEC and securities laws. It’s one informed person’s opinion, but it’s well informed. He’s breaking the trend of fear and “just to be safe” lawyers’ advice. I hope there will be more to follow. Appreciate how difficult it is for a group like ours - the last thing we want is to be made an example of, but we hope the tide turns in the right direction.

** An Amazing Team

We have an incredibly dedicated core team, an enthusiastic secondary team, and more strong consultants and supporters than we can count. ** The Price is Set

We have set the price of one Pillar token at 0.0005 ether - the same price as the presale but without the bonus token. We will have 528 million tokens available for the sale. After seeing several other projects successfully raise over $200 million, we feel we are asking the right amount and promise to spend it very carefully. Don’t be greedy - be lean and pivot often.

** Where is the Address?

If we sent it to you now, it wouldn’t be a public sale. We’ll send you the contract address tomorrow, July 15th, at 8am London time (GMT + 1). It will also be on our purchase page.

** What’s a Good Strategy?

This is what I would do if I were buying tomorrow: I would simply send all the ether at the starting time, using 60 Gwei and 200,000 gas limit. That’s the best you can do. It will get in or it won’t - let the blockchain sort that out. Remember, if you get them, you have what you’re looking for, but if you don’t, you’re no worse off (well, very little) than you were before. And you’re still a member of the Pillar family.
Remember - if your ether is still in your wallet, you didn’t get tokens (please don’t email us about this), and if your ether is gone, you are in.

** What’s Next?

We assume you’re not eager to sell your tokens, but a) we’ll be working on an exchange as soon as tokens are issued, and b) we’ll send out in another newsletter how to see your tokens. They’re on the blockchain, so you don’t need to worry, but we’ll tell you how to show them in your MyEtherWallet. You can’t do that tomorrow, so don’t worry about it. You will probably get another newsletter sometime over the weekend, depending on how things go. In the meantime, you can …

** Remember the Goal

The goal here isn’t to get you tokens or get us as much money as the market will bear. The goal is to change the world. We have thousands of supporters wanting to give us a few ether, and we love them because they believe in us. You don’t need to buy our tokens to believe in the Pillar purpose:

• Enable identity and data sovereignty for all
• Get rid of accounts - put your own assets under your control
• Turn apps into services
• Build the new data infrastructure and the Pillar brand, so that the Pillar system becomes the default system for managing all mobile devices

If you believe in that, your next step is to get ready to buy tokens tomorrow. And that’s just the beginning.

** A Call to Action

Frankly, we have no idea how many ether to expect tomorrow. It could be anything. But now is the time. We ask you to reach out to five friends, or readers, or viewers, and ask them to support us. We have a very strong grassroots base. We would be happy to say that the little guys carried the day. We can’t guarantee all will get tokens who want them, but if you believe in what we’re doing, please help us spread the word. We may be hiring several of you soon!
