How will the world look if we remove the very element of division, ownership and economic rivalry? What can we achieve if all individuals and organizations cooperate instead of compete? How far can we go if we join resources together and collaborate on a global scale to power and accelerate various programs and projects? Wouldn't it be nice if we could combine the power of all to achieve the power of one? Welcome to DAOstack! The future of unlimited achievements and large-scale success lie on global cooperation and collaboration built on a strong, unified decentralized platform like DAOstack.

The world has struggled so hard to achieve international cooperation on critical areas of human development only to meet with minimal success and then failure. No thanks to lots and lots of things being centralized. Everything revolves around a central authority much often controlled by government - and sometimes private organizations. Think about anything - education, financial systems, health, business, employment, etc. all are controlled by a single unit of authority that determines, sets and enforces the standards of operation in these sectors. The result is division of scarce resources and subsequent inefficiencies that result from operating with limited capability. The big question is: Can we unify decision-making, our actions and programs without establishing a central control to split our efforts? The answer is YES! DAOstack believes we can!

What is DAOstack?

DAO as an acronym stands for Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. DAOstack is the platform or framework on of which DApps can be built. Much like every other decentralized system, DAOstack wants to bring international collaboration and cooperation to a new level. It is a system built of common goals and interests, a network of people and organizations working and sharing resources together to achieve a common goal.

What tools will enable DAOstack achieve decentralization?

The implemetation of DAOstack has been streamlined to ensure smooth use and application. Various tools have been put in place to take care of each layer of implementation. They are as follows

ARC

This is the modular data structure that stands for various decentralized organizations on the blockchain. It is the backbone through which various organizations connect to DAO and implement their projects.

Arc.Hives

This is a storage site for all the data used by all the interacting organizations on the DAO platform. This decentralized data pool ensures that all the systems on DAO have easy and direct access to data for communication purposes.

Arc.js

Developers should have a way of plugging into DAOstack. Arc.js serves this purpose. It enables developers to build their applications on the DAOstack blockchain. Hence, programmers have the opportunity and capacity to develop independent programs and implement them on DAOstack platform

Alchemy

Every system must have a way for users to get involved and accomplish tasks. Alchemy allows the user to make inputs to the system and generate output in a structured and efficient manner on DAOstack

DApps & DAOs

When the above tools have been put to good use, DAOstack will produce meaningful results in form of DApps and DAOs; making it the most profitable way to share resources and produce output efficiently.

How can DAOs improve the cost, efficiency and structure of organizations?

Operating costs will be significantly lowered because organizations share the same resources between each other. Hence, there will be no redundancies and duplication of man-power, raw materials and other technicalities as we see today in centralized systems.

Because organizations are using an already proven system and operational principles, efficiency is greatly improved. Trial and error will be completely eliminated since the platform in use have been tested and certified to work effectively.

The way organizations work will have a better structure. DAOstack has been developed with the most flexible principle in mind. When organizations follow this laid out system, their structure is improved, stabilized and unified with a system that proves to be the best.

What are some potential use cases?

An international collaboration of 20,000 School boards or more working on the same curriculum will enhance the global standard of education. Unlike what we have now where each country has their own school system, a decentralized education system will give all students the best education no matter where they live or their social background.

How does DAOstack's method of vote power distribution promote incorruptibility?

In centralized systems today, few individuals hold the power. Most times, they abuse it. But with DAOstack method of vote power, every individual or organization has a vote or stake. Theses stakes are all important for any projects to get approved. And because these stakes cannot be bought or sold, the contribution and participation of every person or organization is important for every decision-making on DAOstack. So this eliminates corruption since it is an all-inclusive system.

What advantages does a DAO have over traditional organizations?

DAO is the most efficient way of running any organization since it leverages the resources of the crowd.
It is the best way to standardize everything instead of individual centralized systems acting independently - often resulting in confusing and conflicting standards.
DAO removes the corruption rampant in today's centralized systems where the power-wielding elites determine everything.

What are the benefits of being able to evolve the DAO or DApp from within (through balanced and fair voting)?

The best ideas contributed and voted by the crowd will definitely lead to better ways of doing things. So when the DAO or DApp evolve from within, it will lead to better, improved ways of doing things. Progress will be sustained and improved upon.

From smart contracts and DAOs to the DAOstack architecture

From a historical point of view as you can see in the video above narrated by Shermin Voshmgir this kind of diversification was, is and will be necessary: In comparison to how the internet is growing, how disruption is taking place, how blockchain technology is thriving, how DAOs are evolving, DAOstack as an ecosystem which consists of DAOs and many more, is a gantry catalyzing this evolution. To understand DAOstack on a basic level, one has to bring DAOs and applications into mind. The following architecture makes the complexity at least a bit accessible:

How will DAOstack change the way corporations and organizations are run?

A DAOstack is a symbol for socio-technological revolution within organizations. As complex the architecture might appear, it also has the potential to change complex organizational entities, to scale corporations towards a more fair and ethical organization by not only decentralizing trust, but rely on its protocols and switch off humane fallibility to a certain extend. The process of designing complex systems depends on the design of its elements, dynamics and initial conditions.

The bigger an organization gets the more inefficient it gets to handle. The bigger a network or a free market gets the more effective it becomes. This has to do with scalability. The scalability of corporations or organizations is a tough nut for every entrepreneur, however these entities can usually accomplish certain missions in comparison to networks and free markets. DAOs have the advantage compared to traditional organizations that they become more effective when they grow. Matan Field’s long term vision is characterized by a shift of huge entities: The entire work space, whole societies won’t be dominated by corporations or governments anymore, but by networks from bottom to top. Decentralized networks will run entire economies.

How does DAOstack's method of vote power distribution promote incorruptibility?

Tackling organizational corruptibility is one of the main aspects of DAOstack which can be ad libitum extended via DApps and DAOs. Not wealthy people run the system but reputation holders, which have proved oneselves within the system. Reputation cannot be traded, it can only be earned via active participation within the certain network/project. If for instance 70 % of reputation holders vote to approve a transaction, then the transaction is going to be executed. Every possible governance can be coded into the system (smart governance)

What are some potential use cases?

IMG_20180604_122500_406.JPG

DAOstack is offering certain use-cases distinguishing between collaboration, shared ownership and curation. Keeping the discussion in comment section alive and inspire each other, I would like to take the aspect of potentiality seriously. Do you think the following cases have potential being brought together with the offered DAOstack system? Particularly the climate initiative of 50000 scientists seems to be very ambitious, due to the fact that scientists in German speaking world not even manage to organize themselves to fight for better working conditions. Anyway very promising to have a closer look. For the more techy driven Steemians, what kind of problems would arise in case of practical realization?

How can DAOs improve the cost, efficiency and structure of organizations?

Especially last aspect of curation would in the DAOstack eco-system become incentivized and built up in a fair way: Whereas google as curation engine keeps its most valuable contributors “curators” out of the business cycles, such a system disrupted via DAO would at least pay its curators back.

What advantages does a DAO has over traditional organizations?

A small group of people within traditional organizations might be prone to influence by others who want to play the system. DAOstack aims to deliver judgment into non-corruptible protocol within a system structure of modules. Arc as a gov-tool not only contains the library for fixing its own organizational problems, but provides the modules/plug-ins for a better scalability. System actors are distinguished in internal ones (tokens, reputation, voting power) and external ones (avatars). It is possible that a unity votes as a single agent. Old and traditional organizations compared to achievements of superscalability by DAOstacks won't be able to compete.
