Hey Steemians

I am based in Switzerland and currently write my master thesis about ICOs (from a business perspective) at one of the biggest Universities in Switzerland. I was fortunate enough to interview the leading experts in the Swiss Crypto Industry about their thoughts about ICOs - please understand that I cannot name them.

So, of the insights, which I wasn't aware of, is that multiple of these professional experts, claim that decentral exchanges (an example is EtherDelta) are going to play a main role and change the way we exchange cryptocurrencies. Because the problems of hacking incidents at exchanges is not going to be solved soon, which is a risk, people are going to accept less and less. With decentral exchanges, you actually own your funds - as in contrast to exchanges like Coinbase - and can also trade fully anonymously. This is also consistent with the initial idea of Nakamoto and the blockchain itself.

There are indeed some disadvantages of decentral exchanges, mainly that trading is more complicated than with a central exchange. Plus, at the the moment, the liquidity is not so high. But with broader adoption, this problem is going to vanish.

All in all, it will need some time until decentral exchanges are going to be the dominant new force. But the pros surely outweigh the cons, this is also what the interviewed experts were convinced of. Before I interviewed them, I wasn't aware of the latent great potential DEX hold.
