Graft stands for Global Realtime Authorization and Fund Transfer.

Graft is a decentralized and open source payment platform which enables for the processing of real time authorization and settlement of merchant payment.

The problem Graft addresses.

I'm going to ask a question: When was the last time, you used your favorite cryptocurrency to make a purchase?
I do not mean an online purchase, or a mining contract, i mean an everyday purchase? like paying for a box of chocolates at the grocery, or paying for gas at a Gas Station.
Like almost everyone, I think the answer is probably NEVER

Cryptocurrency is about 9years old, and despite its being widely accepted, we still cannot see them being adopted by merchants on a global scale: some merchants might allow you purchase some stuffs online but that just where it ends. You cannot really find many stores accepting bitcoin or litecoin for everyday purchases like food or gas; the reason is many cryptocurrencies, despite their popularity and revolution are simply too slow to be used at point -of -sale terminal.

Bitcoin for instance has a block time of 10minute which means: you have to wait 10minute for your transaction to be confirmed by the network. (this is assuming you get to the next block probably by paying a high network fee just to get ahead of everyone else and your transaction is confirmed within 10minute.)
Now you have to wait for five more blocks or six confirmations in total for your transaction to be considered safe.

I don't know how that sounds to you but I definitely do not think I can wait for almost an hour to just to get a cup of coffee.

FASTER AND BETTER TRANSACTIONS

Graft solves the problem by giving anyone the ability to accept any major cryptocurrency in real time without worrying about converting to fiat.

This means merchants will be able to convert cryptocurrencies like bitcoin or litecoin instantly and all transactions will be processed in seconds, by using grafts REAL TIME AUTHORIZATION feature (RTA).

One big problem merchant encounter is converting the cryptocurrency they just received to fiat currency.
They have to first receive the cryptocurrency into their wallet and send it to the exchange which converts it to fiat currency before they can withdraw it to their bank account. It is already too much of a stress

Graft Real Time Authorization feature validates the transaction and guarantees that merchants do not have to bother about converting cryptocurrency to fiat currency, as Graft will do all the exchanging at your own pace either as soon as transaction is finalised or at the end of a business day.

If you are conversant with how the cryptocurrency market is, you would agree with me that it's a very volatile, with the prices always rising and falling, it would be a bad business idea to require merchants accept cryptocurrency as payment for goods and risk losing 10-20 percent of the actual value of the goods they sold, due to the fluctuation of the cryptocurrency market. With Graft this is totally taken care of.

NO NEED TO SWITCH

With Graft you won't just be able to accept and process cryptocurrency transactions, you would also be able to process debit and credit card transactions. This means merchants would be able to accept any major cryptocurrency as well as debit and credit cards all from a single device. Graft has its own native coin: graft coin which uses the crypto protocol, this means all transactions involving graft coins are private and untraceable and no one will have access to any information except for the parties involved in the transaction, compared to bitcoin: any one can see the record of all transactions and all of which are traceable.

All graft transactions are decentralized and there is no need to put trust in any intermediaries or middlemen to use the Graft network.
