Recently, the Zcash team successfully performed the hard-fork of the Overwinter network, which will be the basis for the subsequent hard-forks of the ZEC crypto currency in the coming years. Earlier on June 25, we reported on the planned update of the blocking, scheduled for June 26, 2018.

According to the news publication Cryptovest, at the first in the history of the blocking start-up of the Zcon0 conference held in Montreal, the developers of anonymous digital currency discussed an unofficial version of the road map and presented their vision on the future plans of the block-start-up.

So, during the conversation it turned out that the Zcash team in the near future does not plan to replace the mining algorithm, because the appearance of Bitmain-based ASIC devices on the market did not have a significant impact on the network, as it was expected earlier.

In turn, the following decisions were made by voting:

Combating ASIC-miners is not a priority;
The planned transition to a new PoW by the end of 2020;
The election of new members of the board of the fund Zcash.

Recall, on May 30, developers of Zcash on their page on Twitter announced the release of the software update v1.1.1, which includes some basic elements necessary for the upcoming hard-fork Sapling, scheduled for the fall of this year. In mid-May, developers of the Gemini Exchange, founded by the world-famous Bitcoin Millionaires, the twin brothers Winklewoss, announced on Twitter the addition of ZEC (Zcash) crypto currency to the trading platform.
