Protecting Your Wallet Seed Words with Coldbit - Stainless Steel Seed Backup
A few months ago, I found a thread on the Bitcointalk forum where someone was planning on selling a fire-proof stainless steel seed backup, once they had launched their online shop.
This initially kind of interested me, since I'm always worried that I'll lose my wallet backup seeds. Without going into too much detail, my current method of storing them isn't 100% handy nor safe.
Now today I've received an e-mail from them, stating that they've launched their online store and are finally selling these steel seed backups. You will have to stamp in the seed words yourself, using the letter stamp kit that they sell separately.
The Steel plates that they're using are 4mm thick and will not bend when you punch in the seed words. Most comparable products are 1mm thick steel and those will warp when you apply too much force.
Now, they're pretty expensive in my opinion, the cheapest steel plate sets you back €70.00 and you'll also have to get the letter stamps, which are priced at €20.00
I reckon that this might still be a good deal for some people, I mean if you have a lot of crypto, you probably won't mind paying €90.00 to have the reassurance that your seed words are safe for eternity.

This is pretty cool. I had never thought to do something like this before. I am guessing most people just have a piece of paper in their safe or something like that. Some people probably have even less than that sadly.
Yeah I was also intrigued by the idea of using this as a backup. Actually thinking of buying one myself, but it's pricey...
