Give meaning to the numerical value

in #crypto6 years ago

We often hear people say that they can't understand how a platform or website works on the Internet. This isn't surprising since there is a cruel lack of data on the value of our content on the Internet.

What I mean by that is that there are so many people who see crypto-currencies as purely speculative assets (like the dot.com bubble of the 2000s), whereas we should look at the crypto-currencies as digital assets where we can create, exchange and distribute value on an internet platform (like Steemit, iExec, Wings, etc ...).

The Internet has made life so much easier that we would think of life more and more as a game and this way of thinking is also taking shape in the economy and finance. Before, to buy an asset (such as an action), you had to move to see a broker to buy some. While now, in two or three clicks, I can trade on the financial markets via the Binance platform.

The platforms in cryptocurrencies will all have a mechanism much like this to facilitate the understanding of the value of our actions on the internet: "platform A, has cryptocurrency B, users C and D need to create the value (via a blog, a fund, the creation of a platform, etc ...), these users will be rewarded in cryptocurrency B, the more they will be rewarded, the more they will gain influence. Users C and D will be able to exchange their financial holdings in Cryptocurrency B against another cryptocurrency (such as Bitcoin). "

Cryptocurrencies can also provide users with the opportunity to create long-term value. For example, on Steemit, users are rewarded if they invest money and if they upvote quality articles. This will also be the same principle for other platforms. Websites will no longer be just a showcase, they will also be intermediaries to manage the value that is created on the internet.

Interesesting read. But I find it hard to understand...
I think you try to make to many points to quick. Let us break this down since you are onto something here in my opinion:

So there are (a) users, (b) a website and (c) content on that website.

  1. The website is using a cryptocurrencies as a value quantification of quality in content, right? They do not just display their content anymore, but act as intermediaries (as you say) between the users and the value created by the content on that website.

  2. Prior to the time of online exchanges you had to go to a broker to access the value of assests. In the digital era, those assest are digital assests like cryptocurrency, smart contracts or even quality content (like on steemit).

  3. Especially for new users, the concept of a website that manages the quality of the content by allocating real value to it is hard to understand. And that is because cryptocurrencies are widely regarded as highly speculative assets. But they are more than this!

Is that right? What do you think? Let me know, if I got your point right :)

Nothing to add. :)
You have perfectly summarized.

Okay, cool! Definitely looking out for your future posts :)

Hello @blysards, la bonne journée ! :-) Thanks for your thoughts! Btw, what's the "Wings" network you're refering to? I've looked for it through duckduckgo, and essentially found a grants network for innovative entrepreneurship, is it the same?

I was talking about that one : https://www.wings.ai
The platform is still in development.
