The World Wi-Fi Network - Imagine Free, Decentralized Wi-Fi - They Can Achieve It
Hey all, I just learned of a new Blockchain project that is very interesting. It is called 'World Wi-Fi' and they have made it their goal to provide free Internet Access to the masses, a feat that, if achieved, would be groundbreaking. Free Internet will be one of the major, top innovations that is made during the Decentralization Movement and World Wi-Fi is at the forefront of that shift.
They are implementing a blockchain-based system which will reward those who provide private wi-fi routers that the public can access. The owners of said routers will earn the native WeToken for their efforts to help provide the general public with free Wi-Fi in this way. It is the incentive to those who would host these routers; the average Internet User is the one who benefits. Users who use World Wi-Fi will just have to watch a small (15 seconds) ad prior to using it, which helps to monetize the system. Router owners earn crypto; advertisers also pay router owners in crypto; users get free Internet. This is a revolutionary model for telecommunications connectivity providers, a truly groundbreaking undertaking.
Now, some may be asking, why the Blockchain. Well, aside from the obvious benefits of being able to create a fixed supply, valuable token to distribute among those who positively contribute to the project, there is a fundamental necessity for it, which is simple:
IMMUTABILITY
It allows a more effective advertisement campaign tracking experience. The blockchain allows for an immutable record of ad impressions for 100% reliable metrics that can't be altered and can be viewed by those who carry out advertising campaigns within the World Wi-Fi Platform. This could well become one of the most powerful mechanisms for advertisers because of this, not to mention the cheaper fees and the better targeted results as a result of this immutability. Payment tracking, ad impression tracking, router account tracking, user account tracking, etc. is logged in the Ethereum Blockchain. The team has shown its prowess and proved themselves as successful creators with the follow through to bring important projects from start to finish. I expect great things from this company and there are many others who have given their proverbial nod to the company as well, many of which are popular ICO Ratings websites. Yeah, definitely checks off a lot of boxes that give it legitimacy. It's traffic is exponentially increasing according to alexa traffic rankings, there is a lot of buzz about it from multiple, independent sources, it has high success likelihood ratings from many ICO Rankings orgs. and the whitepaper is in-depth, as well as straightforward. It looks really good to me, to be honest.
and regarding your criteria, yeah, it checks most off. While the MVP isn't out yet, they have multiple past, fully functional products, which shows their ability as producers. They have a full roadmap and details regarding their team, hard and small cap, and fund distribution and lock up. Take a look yourself and decide, but I found no red flags. :)
Definitely going to look into it more. Have heard about the project in the past, but I dismissed it because I didn't think giving away something for free that you can already get for free many places is an issue. Then again, I live in a major urban area. Thanks for the lead.
Yeah, the geographic span that they can have and also the fact that the SPEED can be so greatly improved compared to most current free wifi areas are key factors. :)

What an awesome project, later on, may have to implement user voting system for the quality of wifi provided. Which would in turn determine the amount the providers get.
