500% profit ETC v ETH BLOODBATH! Tutorial-- If you have Ether then you have FREE MONEY on Ether Classic fork.

If you ain't been watching Ether Classic's superhero landing into the world of Cryptocoins get over to Poloniex and watch players became millionaires!  

I have been hanging around the Crypto sphere for the past 6 months, getting the lie of the land and trying to figure out how the hell it all works. Blockchains, Altcoins, public keys, private keys, autonomous organisations, theft, division, false flags, forks, knifes, spoons, to the MOON. Its been a hella fun ride. You couldn't make this stuff up, almost as crazy as Brexit/British politics.

Watching Ether Classic take off in the Poloniex exchange last night was EPIC. I got in at 0.0014 and got out right on the peak at 0.0043. It was fricking craziness.  Real life Game of thrones. The outcast ETC rises from the ashes to challenge the new King on the block. 

I gotta 500% profit on my second trade ever. Can see how this day trading thing can be addictive. 

Talk about dumb luck, probably never happen to me again......Unless I am somehow just a natural...hmmmm.......If only I had put all my savings down I would have made a fortune....several weeks later.....BROKE! :)

TUTORIAL TIME

So I had some Ether and now I have some Ether Classic ...somewhere... how the hell do I get it and how the hell do I sell it. In my case I had my Ether in JAXX a popular wallet but it doesn't support the new Ether Classic so I have to get it into Mist which does. 

If you have all your Ether in Mist already skip to part 2

After searching around for a while on the web I have pieced together how to do it.

PART 1 Transfer Your Ethereum Account from Jaxx to Mist

1. Open your Jaxx wallet and click Tools from the menu.

2. Click 3 little dots in top right hand corner... Select the option to "Back Up Wallet".

3. Select "Display Private Keys"

4. Select "Display Ethereum Keys"

5. This is Private key. Keep it safe.  The first part is your Public key and the second your private key. 

This is your key but you need it in a format Mist can understand. A JSON file

To make this we will use 

 MyEtherWallet Chrome Extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/myetherwallet-cx/nlbmnnijcnlegkjjpcfjclmcfggfefdm?hl=en 

1. Add your private Jaxx key. Don't worry it all happens on your computer so no one has access to your private key. Name your wallet and give it a password.
2. Now to the hack part....Go to "My Wallets" -> "View Wallet Info" on the right. Enter password. Download encrypted private key.
3. Open MyEtherWallet.com.
4. Go to "View Wallet Details" tab.
5. Download Json encrypted Mist file.

You have you Json file.

PART 2

You will need a computer, which I will call Computer 2 that has never had mist installed before. Install mist

It will need to download the Ether Blockchain... this may take a few hours depending on your web connection.

When you install you will be asked if you support the fork or not select NO.

If coming from JAXX

In Mist click Accounts in the top menu bar, go down to backup, select accounts and copy the backed up Json keystore files we made earlier into the keystore files folder.

Otherwise just copy your wallet keystore from your regular hf chain computer to computer 2 

Let ETC sync on computer 2 - you should see your Ether balance shown at the time of HF (this is your ETC Ether)

Create new address on Computer 1 (with hf chain) and send all Ether to the new address on Computer 1

On computer 2 send all ETC Ether to ETC deposit address on Poloniex
Sell ETC coins on poloniex for BTC

Discontinue use of the Original Address on the HF chain as a precaution. Also try selling small amounts first to make sure you are NOT spending on both chains 

....FREE MONEY.. if you had Ether before the fork you have the same amount of Ether and Ether Classic after the fork. Don't believe it check this out from

Heres the summary/important part

ETC is trading at approximately 5% of the value of ETH.

• Sell ETC and keep their ETH – Without touching their ETH balance, owners can cash out in ETC on exchanges like Poloniex that are accepting the alternative fork's currency. This is essentially an opportunity for a simple 5% gain.
• Sell ETC and buy more ETH – Owners can convert their ETC into additional ETH, thereby increasing their balance without requiring new capital, and without mining. Again, this allows owners to increase their holdings in ETH by 5%: a quick gain.
• Sell ETC and sell ETH – If owners sell on both chains, they can earn an additional 5% and completely eliminate any risk of exposure on either ethereum network.
• Sell ETH and keep their ETC – Owners can cash out of ETH to pull their exposure out of Ethereum, but still maintain a balance of 5% on ETC.
• Sell ETH and buy more ETC – In this most extreme scenario, owners can convert all their ETH to ETC and increase their balance by 2,000% (eg if $10 = 1 ETH, then $10 = 20 ETC). If enough owners do this, and the majority balance of activity reverts back to ETC, then so too might the miners.
