It's a term as familiar as e-commerce or cryptocurrency. Kickstarter began to intrigue a large global audience around the same time as Blockchain was born and in less than a decade a series of successful crowdfunding platforms have brought us wonderful new ideas and products straight from the minds of talented artists, designers, inventors and tech start up companies. Most of whom would have never been able to raise the required start up capital in the traditional way. Their ideas would have had little chance of ever seeing the light of day.

WANT ! But these are all consumer products and this is the age of the app.

Software is and has been one of the most exciting sectors of development since I was a kid. From the early days of arcade games like pacman (and AMIGA apps like Deluxe Paint) through increasingly sophisticated PC & web apps, (my early career was built on Photoshop and Dreamweaver), Software is the new hardware and software businesses are still growing rapidly as a major part of the globalised economy. No doubt, Wetware will be a big growth area over the next century !

Not a Pipe Dream
