Third test b/w West Indies and India was played at Chennai, West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first. West Indies took good advantage of weaker bowling side in the absence of Bumrah & Yadav. West Indies opener Hetmyer & Hope provided a great start. Both provided a brisk start, West Indies first wicket fall at 51 when Chahal dismissed Hope for 24. Hetmyer departed after scoring 26 runs.Washington Sundar ended the dangerous partnership b/w Bravo & Ramdin. Ramdin scored 15 runs. Pooran joined Bravo.

Pooron scored 53 runs in just 25 balls helped West Indies to post 181 runs on the board in alloted 20 overs. Bravo scored 43 runs. For India Chahal took 02 wickets.
In reply India lost Captain Rohit Sharma cheaply. Sharma scored 4 runs. K L Rahul brisk innings ended by Thomas. He scored 17 runs in just 10 balls.

Pant joined Dhawan in the middle. Both played brilliant cricket and made a brilliant partnership of 130 runs. Pant made 58 runs. At this time India required 7 runs in 10 balls but tidy penultimate over by Paul left behind 5 runs in the last over. India scored 4 run in the first 3 balls of Allen over. Three more balls to go and India required one run to win the match. The dot balls and the next ball Dhawan wickets required India 1 run in 1 ball. Allen misfield helped India to complete 1 run in the last ball. Allen made this match interesting despite doing misfield in the last ball. With this win India ended the series on a great note.
