India's shameful defeat.
In the third T20 match played against South Africa at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, on Sunday, India won the toss and batted first and set a target of 135 runs for victory against South Africa. This was achieved by South Africa in just 16.5 overs with the help of skipper Quinton De kock's brilliant unbeaten 79 runs. With this victory, South Africa ended the three-T20 series against India on a 1–1 draw.
Indian target was little for De kock.
South Africa started strongly in front of a modest target of 135 runs from India. In just 10 overs, opener Reeja Hendrix (28) and Quinton Dickock (79 not out) put together a partnership of 76 runs.
On this score Hendrix returned to the pavilion. He hit four fours in a 26-ball innings. But this wicket proved to be India's last wicket. After this, Temba Bavuma (27 not out), who came to bat, along with De kock, gave South Africa a win in just 16.5 overs. Bavuma hit two fours and a six in his 23-ball innings. At the same time, Dickock hit six fours and five sixes in a 52-ball innings.
India's bowling proved to be completely ineffective in front of the South African batsmen. The only successful bowler for India was Hardik Pandya, who got one wicket. But for this, he spent 23 runs in just two overs.
No one showed power other than Shikhar
India's decision to bat first after winning the toss did not prove to be right and Team India kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Due to this, it failed to set a big target. India's first wicket fell as Rohit Sharma on 22 runs in 2.2 overs. After this, Shikhar Dhawan, batting well, scored 36 runs. By this time, the team had scored 63 runs in 7.3 overs. Captain Virat Kohli was unable to continue his form in the previous match and he too was dismissed just after Dhawan scored on the score of 9 runs. Rishabh Pant seemed to be playing well, so he also threw his wicket on the score of 19 runs. In the end, Hardik Pandya (14) and Ravindra Jadeja (19) did somehow take India beyond 100 runs. But both of them could not score fast and the entire Indian team could score just 134 runs in the prescribed 20 overs.
