La Casona, place that was for 40 years the home for the presidents of Venezuela, was converted into a cultural center. From the time of the colony, it was a sugar cane farm, until in 1964, given that its owners did not want to sell it, it was expropriated by the government to be used as a presidential residence.

La Casona, lugar que fue durante 40 años la vivienda para los presidentes de Venezuela, fue convertida en centro cultural. Desde la época de la colonia, fue una hacienda de caña de azúcar, hasta que en 1964, en vista de que sus dueños no quisieron venderla, fue expropiada por el gobierno para destinarla a residencia presidencial.

La Casona, 40 Jahre lang Sitz der Präsidenten von Venezuela, wurde in ein Kulturzentrum umgewandelt. Von der Zeit der Kolonie an war es eine Zuckerrohrfarm, bis sie 1964 von der Regierung enteignet und als Präsidentenresidenz genutzt wurde, da ihre Besitzer sie nicht verkaufen wollten.

The cultural center is named one of the most important Venezuelan writers of recent times, who is one of the greatest Spanish-speaking poets, Aquiles Nazoa. Fragments of his writings can be found throughout the house.

El centro cultural lleva el nombre uno de los escritores venezolanos más importantes de los últimos tiempos, quien es uno de los más grandes poetas de habla hispana, Aquiles Nazoa. A lo largo de la casa se pueden encontrar fragmentos de sus escritos.

Das Kulturzentrum wird als einer der wichtigsten venezolanischen Schriftsteller der letzten Zeit bezeichnet, der als einer der größten spanischsprachigen Dichter Aquiles Nazoa gilt. Fragmente seiner Schriften sind im ganzen Haus zu finden.

Open spaces and the collection of works of art are two of the elements that stand out in La Casona. There are many spaces and works that are being restored, so they are not yet visible to the public.

Los espacios abiertos y la colección de obras de arte son dos de los elementos que destacan en La Casona. Hay muchos espacios y obras que están en proceso de restauración, por lo cual aún no están a la vista del público.

Freiflächen und die Sammlung von Kunstwerken sind zwei der Elemente, die in La Casona auffallen. Es gibt viele Räume und Werke, die restauriert werden, so dass sie für die Öffentlichkeit noch nicht sichtbar sind.

Another characteristic of the place is luxury. Space with highly sophisticated and expensive decorations cover most of the rooms. Including the president's office, which was not well photographed because of the low lighting, for that reason I did not include it.

The last president who lived there was Hugo Chávez, from 1998 to 2002, who, contrary to what many might suppose, ordered to prepare a room for him without any luxury and neighboring the room where the Council of Ministers met.
