Forgiveness- A short story- Part 2

Billy parked down the street while he phoned the office to inform them he would be late. He needed to know if Julia was safe.  He needed to see her.

He parked down the street and thought about the first day they met.  It was so many years ago, but he remembers every little detail. He had never seen anyone so beautiful in his whole life.  He was on his way to the office when he saw her inside the coffee shop.  She must have thought that he was crazy, but he stood staring at her as if she was a mannequin in a shop window.

She smiled at him and called him inside. It was love at first sight for him and he was totally mesmerized by her reddish long hair that fit perfectly with her green emerald eyes. He stuttered when he spoke to her and she just laughed.

They had coffee, and the following week he asked her to go out with him.  He was so nervous on their date but once they started talking they never stopped.  They talked for hours and one date turned into four and before he knew, six months had passed.

He was the happiest man on earth.  They dated for nearly nine months when he popped the question and she said yes without even thinking about it. They were meant to be together.  They were good together.

They got married six months later and marriage was a bliss.  He took her to Paris on honeymoon, and when she felt sick after coming home, they were both shocked that she was pregnant.  Sylvia was born nine months later and was an exact replica of her mother. They wanted to give her the world, but fifteen months later Brandon was born and Julia became negative.

It was rough.  The kids took most of her time and by the time he got home, he found her either tired or asleep. Her main focus was on the kids and she did what she had to do but her sparkle was gone.  They stopped talking.

Julia fell into a routine.  He wanted her to stay at home with the kids and every day she looked more like a robot than a woman. She never complained, but he could see that she was not happy, and he did absolutely nothing to make her feel better.  He was too focused on providing for the family and they drifted apart.

John could feel the tears roll over his face.

He didn't do anything to make her feel better.  It was his fault that she left.  He realized that now more than ever.

John could feel his heart beating in his chest when he saw Julia come out of the apartment.  For the first time in years he felt mesmerized by her beauty and she looked happy.

His whole heart wanted to stop her from walking away, but his mind didn't play along.  He watched as she walked away. He knew she would never come back if things didn't change at home, and he knew for sure he wanted to win her back.

He sent a text back to the number:

The kids would love to see you.
