Emergency DIY

in #creative9 years ago (edited)

So I get home today and find my water meter overflowing water. So I cut the water off and find this:

In the picture above I already disconnected and cut the bad part of the pipe.

I'm guessing a few weeks ago I junked an old truck I had sitting in my yard and I think the tow truck driver ran over my meter box. When he did that I think it pushed the box down snaping the pipe.

I know I know gross! I agree. I plan on digging all of the pipe leading to the house and changing it soon. But today I need water in the house.

Most would have called a plumber but not @strugglingdiy. Nope I grabbed my debt card and headed to the big box store for the supplies I needed. I have ZERO plumbing experience so if I can do it so can you.

I buried the pipe before I thought to take a pic but basically I connected the two pipes together using a coupling with gasket. I then tested and no leaks. 😁😁

As always if you have any questions or comments please leave them down below.

Now go outside and make a good day!
