Daily Steem Price Update 24/2/2019
Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 24/2/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem prices and changes for just over 2 years now.
I also want to mention just incase your thinking something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do slightly change from time to time.
But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as its important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 24/2/2019
Should you be trading with Steem today..
I just want to quickly mention we only have 160 more SP to go till we reach dolphin so any extra support on that is appreciated. Steem's January high of $0.43 remains the best value for 2019. We had our first February Bitcoin downwave on the 6th but on the 8th that downwave got destroyed as Bitcoin's went from $3352 to $3663. This first downwave took Bitcoins from $3433 down to $3355 but now we have gone way past that $3433 mark also Bitcoins were hanging mostly around $3415 near the 1st of February and so that upwave also smashed us past that mark. Yesterday we had our 3rd Bitcoin upwave for February, Bitcoins went from $3915 at ⏰09.30 to $4135 at ⏰20.45. We had hope and there was still the possibility the upwave would go up a little further but instead today around ⏰13.45 Bitcoin's downwaved slightly further then what we just gained, it went from $4170 down to $3726. Ouch, but we did expected it to go downwards today, just not that far. And so Steem today.. well it was effected my the downwave of course by also going downwards. Steem started well at $0.34 and started to look promising as by ⏰01.25 we reached $0.35 and nearly to $0.36. Steem continued to hold on to $0.35 till ⏰14.00 when it started to fall and landed on the $0.30 mark at ⏰16.40. And so what are you waiting for Steem as just got cheaper last time you could buy it at this price was on the 16th Feb. If nothing much happens in 2019 then I hope those who are in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting Steem. Still Steem at these low prices put's us on a survival mode era as Bitcoin dropped drastically forcing Steem's value to tank forcing Steem-INC staff reductions, a possible threat to the website and the Steemit's account security. The conclusion is to cut down the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live the "steemd" instance size's went from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all of it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. And so with the power downs also put into a halt all we really need is the price to be abit higher and we will be out of survival mode. Ned also said that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. Also nodes continue to run well on hivemind to which it was only made possible thanks to AppBase. SBD's today done well they were holding $0.96 nicely, and yea sometimes it dropped to $0.95 but mainly they stayed at $0.96. But SBD's did also get effected by the downwave. They did start to drop off a little before-hand around ⏰12.20 and at the fall which happened at ⏰14.00 which took them from $0.95 down to the $0.90 mark at ⏰15.35. But at the moment they are recovering better than Steem.

Morning @jkenny so awaiting on the possibility the upwave would go up a little further it instead around ⏰13.45 downwaved slightly further then what we had just gained going from $4170 down to $3726 and of course affecting Steem.
That's a big hop backwards. I like it when it stays Green :)
Yea a bigger drop then I thought even if Bitcoin's were doing so well, well atleast the buyers can now have some fun @karenb54
