Good day Steemian welcome to today's Steem price update for 18/4/2019 I have been posting the Steem price update since almost the very beginning of Steemit.com many have came here to discuss the daily Steem price's and changes for just over 2 years now.

I also want to mention just incase your wondering when perhaps something doesn't seem normal from the other regular Price update posts that the daily Steem price posts do occasionally change it's format from time to time.

But regardless of changes we will carry on as usual and by this I mean knowing the price of Steem as it's important for your daily plan or strategy and honestly even if you are not planing to do anything with your Steem I still recommend checking out these updates and keeping an eye on the price, so without further ado lets take a look at today's Daily Steem Price Change for 18/4/2019

Should you be trading with Steem today...?

After 30 months we reached dolphin and I'm sure once the price goes up higher it will be more beneficial to us all. Now then on March 10th we have seen Steem reach it's highest for the year at $0.55 along with SBD's which also had a breaker on March 13th with it's highest being $1.41. With Bitcoins they have recently been holding around the $5000 mark, the highest for Bitcoins near the latest upwave is $5390. For the last few days Bitcoins and been holding around just under $5100 we had a downwave going from $5176 to $4986 but 2 days they recovered and went even further up to $5210 yesterday and today it's been going upwards trying to get to the $5300 mark which it's just shy by a little reaching $5280 today. For Steem they have been trying to hold above the $0.40 mark after falling from $0.50 and seems to being doing it well. Steem and it's overall ranking position is around #52 amongst all the other cryptos. As you know we beat the January high marking our highest value at $0.55. The past few days Steem have been presenting themselves with various opportunities to buy into Steem and I believe it was on the 11th that was the best day to buy-in recently. The drop in Steem was expected but not down to $0.40 so quickly nor that we would be on $0.42 for much of the time but rather around $0.46 is the drop we thought to see. We started today back to $0.42 interesting as we saw a rise in Bitcoins and Steem hanging around at $0.43 more often lately. That is not to say that today we didn't see a $0.43 rise at all as Steem continued at $0.42 until ⏰02.35 from there it started bumping into $0.43 but not for that long by ⏰08.40 Steem was back to $0.42 and didn't move. Anyway if nothing much will happen for Steem in 2019 which is slowly looking more doubtful then I hope those who are still in the game will take the opportunity to keep collecting because right now we are in a seriously good place to grow our accounts remember as the price goes up higher collecting actual Steem becomes more difficult. I also want to make it clear that I was apparently wrong in pulling the trigger too fast that we was out of survival mode, it seems according to Steem INC they still found themselves to be in survival mode but now we are officially crawling out. But longer in survival mode the conclusion from all this is to continue cutting of the costs of nodes. Hivemind is now live the "steemd" instance size's went from 488GB RAM to now shockingly 61GB RAM! Focus is on a multi index RocksDB adapter which is a new technology in development to allow the Steem blockchain nodes to store almost all of it's necessary data to a disk in a modern database instead of RAM, this move will make nodes cheaper. Ned also said that the cost reduction progress will still remain above the creation of SMT's which I feel is the right move. Did you know that after the wallet split from steemit.com is complete that both logged in and non-logged in users will see the adds on Steemit.com, I would rather not but understand this is part of keeping us out of survival mode if that was to happen again. It's also come to my attention people are still learning about the wallet split and feel this will continue to be a problem for a while so please have your keys backed-up, yes ALL of them and dont use your masterkey to log into Steemit.com, also when you click on your wallet yes you will be directed to a completely different website which should be "steemitwallet.com" please dont worry as this website is safe and part of Steemit.com. After your initial log-in you wont need to use your masterkey and so if you still don't understand how your private keys work or are relatively new to Steemit you can go to the Steemitblog account for a more recent official explanation. For SBD's they broke record March 13th reaching $1.41. Currently SBD's are at a "normal" pegged rate, which we have seen for the last 8 days. I was in hope that with Bitcoins going up we would of stayed above the $1.00 mark but then there was that drop 3 days ago from Bitcoins but hopefully with it's recovery upwards I continue in hope to see SBD's back above $1.04. But I must say I was happy with today's SBD start $1.02 even jumping to $1.03 but there was downbump early at ⏰01.10 that was worrying but it only took SBD's down to $1.01 before it was back at to $1.02. But unfortunately SBD's only hit $1.03 once more at ⏰05.10. And so SBD's continued at $1.02 until ⏰06.25 which had the more worrying downbump going under the $1.00 mark to $0.99. But it was only briefly and SBD's made it back above the $1..00 jumping into $1.02 but on average stayed at $1.01.
