Essential Oil diffusing Bracelets, easy to make, and convenient to use! ♥
If you have seen my past posts, you know that occasionally I like to make jewelry!
Well, shoot, I'd like to make it every day, but who has time for that?!
Recently, it was my friend's birthday! She didn't really need anything, and I couldn't think of anything that great to buy for her, so I decided to MAKE her something! A customized essential oil-diffusing bracelet! Like a dork, I forgot to take a picture, so you'll just have to imagine the bracelet... It was made mainly of pearls, (symbolizing truth and loyalty), rose quartz, (symbolizing love), and rosewood, (symbolizing a compassionate and loving heart). It also has a little angel charm on it. The rosewood is absorbent, and you just drip a drop of whatever essential oil you like onto it.
A few oils and blends in my collection. There are many more!
She LOVED it!
Her favorite way to use it is with calming oils, since she tends to stress....
Well, my son has been asking me for a bracelet as well. His favorite stone is lapis lazuli, (because of minecraft, haha). He suffers from allergies, and frequently wakes up in the morning, sneezing up a storm. I told him we could make a bracelet with lava stones and lapis lazuli. We can put eucalyptus oil onto the lava beads and he can just sniff his bracelet whenever he is feeling 'sneezy'. I made it for him the other day, and he LOVES it! He has not taken it off yet, and he told me that it helps him so much! He almost had a sneezing fit yesterday, and when he sniffed it, it went away.
One of the cool things about lapis lazuli is that it has flecks of gold-looking pyrite swirled into it.
Making it was pretty easy. I just used a .8mm stretchy cord for jewelry making. I strung the lapis beads, spacer beads, and lava beads into the pattern he liked best. Then I tied it off with a square knot, dabbed some jewelry glue onto the knot, and pulled it inside one of the beads. After trimming the ends, you cannot tell where the knot is.
I would recommend making these for yourselves or your children if you have issues that can be helped by essential oils. For example, if you have anxiety or just need help relaxing, lavendar, clary sage, and/or geranium oils might be right for you. If you need help concentrating, try basil, peppermint, or rosemary oils. If you have allergies, try eucalyptus, tea tree, or peppermint oils. You can use wood, lava or clay beads as your diffuser beads, since they are absorbent and will soak up the oils. Any other kinds of beads and charms can be added to create the style you like. It's a pretty easy way to use the essential oils anywhere you are, rather than being confined to a room where they are being diffused.
Thanks for reading! I hope you found this helpful and perhaps have some ideas to try at home as well!
Have a blessed day! ♥

Wow, cool idea. I never thought of this. I have a couple of questions: Do you put a drop of essential oil on each of the wood/clay beads, or does that make the scent too strong? Also, is there any chance that the oil on the bead could irritate the skin? How often do you re-apply the essential oil?
Thnx
Excellent questions!
Yes, I have been putting one drop onto each bead, although for sensitive noses, this may be too much. I would just try it and see what works for you.
It IS possible that the oils could irritate the skin. What I generally do is place the bracelet on a washcloth or something like that, apply the oils, and let them soak in for a minute. Then gently pat it to make sure its not dripping or anything. So far so good.
I've been putting it on his bracelet every morning. It still smells nice after a day has passed, but this way I make sure it is strong enough to help him when sneezing.
Actually, now that I think about it, he almost always wakes up with a sneezing fit, and the past few mornings, since he got his bracelet, there have been no sneezing fits. I think the ambient scent is helping, even when he is not actually sniffing the bracelet...

Great tips, thanks! And it's so good that this is working for your son. Way to go! :-)
oh!! @squishysquid you really make cute things; besides, I think it's a nice gift for a birthday. Have a great weekend :D
Thank you!
I am super new at jewelry making, and keep surprising myself at how nice they come out!
Hope your weekend is a good one! ♥
The bracelet looks amazing! A few months ago I made a bracelet with my mom and we used lava beads as well so that we could add essential oils :)
Cool! ♥ I bet it came out nice. :D
This is amazing!
I am just starting to gather information about essential oils and crystals.
I really like Lapis Lazuli, it reminds me of galaxy, hehe! :)
Giving something that you made as a gift is such a beautiful thing, plus this is also very useful and beneficial. Loved it!
Aww thanks!! ♥
I was a little nervous giving it to her, since I have not made anyone a homemade gift, except my husband, since childhood. I felt like it might be silly, but it wasnt. She LOVED it and has not taken it off, and keeps showing it off to people, haha.
I dont know much about crystals, besides that they're pretty. Well, except for shungite. Shungite is supposed to neutralize radiation, and I dont know how true it is, but I have a shungite pyramid, some stones, and shungite beads to hopefully counteract the radiation that comes from wireless devices and such.
Essential oils are awesome! I have been using them for years now and would not be without them. They are expensive, BUT a little goes a LONG way, so once you have a bottle of something, it lasts.
Dont know if you have checked out colloidal silver or not, but it is worth looking into as well!
I will have to teach my wife how to make that... lovely piece of jewellery!
Thank you! ♥
excellent friend, I am also a little stressed haha, a really good idea and not even say as a gift, greetings
Thank you! :D
Oh my word, this is SUCH a fantastic idea!!! I would have never thought of using absorbent stone or wood in a bracelet like this. I am going to suggest this to my daughter who loves to make friendship bracelets as a stress reliever. We have some essential oils that she likes as well, so this would be perfect. You are so creative! Thank you for sharing!
So glad I could help!! ♥
I bet she'll love the idea!
@squishysquid I love EO too! Heavenly the smells! Do you also make your own skincare?
Yes, actually! I make lotions and deodorants and whatnot. I have to make more deodorant here soon, and Ill try to remember to take photos so I can make a post about it. ♥
Sounds lovely.
If you ever decide to sell these for steem, use the tag #steemshop . The tags
Popularity waxes and wanes but I’ve used it before - no sales but some inquiries.
Oh good! I havent heard about that tag yet, Ill have to remember that one. I have used #steembay, which is an auction bot, and it is pretty neat. Kinda like ebay, but without the fees and regulation. I have bough and sold a couple things on there, all with great experiences.
Thanks for the tip!
Is rosewood the only bead you can use to be absorbent? Or are there others?
I'd love to try and make my own but wanted a back up plan in case I can't find rosewood
No, any kind of wooden beads will do, as well as lava beads and non-sealed clay beads. These are the ones I have heard of using, but any type of absorbent-material bead should work. I bought mine on amazon and etsy, but if you look in the craft stores, they should have some there too. :)
I ❤️ Etsy.
Me too! ♥
