My Knives #15 Gyuto and paring set

in #craft6 years ago (edited)

Hello dear Steemians,

I've finally finished something that I can post.

Before I start, sorry for the missing "nice gallery" of the final product, but I had to return the DSLR I've borrowed and mine is still under the weather.

Instead, you get a nice phone pic ;)

This is a nice set I've been working on/off for some time now. The set is made out of big gyuto and a smaller paring knife.
Both are done in 1095 steel with differential heat treatment. The handles are made in bog oak, Corian and spalted beech.

The gyuto has already made her appearance in my latest video - where you can check how it cuts.

Anywho, as with all my builds, I did run into some problems but in the end, I think the set came out quite nice.

Please enjoy the build progress pics and one nicer one of the whole set at the very end.

The start - you can see the paper stancils glued onto the steel here
