It was announced today that John Bolton will be replacing H.R. McMaster as Trump's National Security Advisor, or more accurately, the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs (APNSA). One of Bolton's prominent private-sector positions is that of board member to EMS Technologies, a defense contractor owned by Honeywell.
EMS produces communications systems for space and military applications. The “EMS” stands for Electromagnetic Sciences, a name given by its founder, Dr. John Pippin in 1968.
The company's four divisions include EMS Defense & Space, LXE, EMS Aviation, and EMS Global Tracking. According to Wikipedia:
- EMS Defense & Space manufactures Kband antenna systems and custom beam management systems for military and commercial applications, including mobile network-centric operations, radar for battlefield visibility and commercial aero connectivity.
- LXE manufactures rugged vehicle-mounted, handheld and wearable mobile computers. This division's warehouse products help companies extend corporate networks to mobile workers with hand held scanners and computers.
- EMS Aviation manufactures satellite-based communication systems that enable worldwide high-speed Internet, voice and video capabilities in-flight. This division's systems are used for in-flight communications and entertainment, rugged data storage, airborne connectivity, and data recording and replay hardware and software for the aerospace, defense and transportation industries.
- EMS Global Tracking manufactures vehicle and personal tracking systems for transportation, security, maritime and the oil and gas industries. This division helps companies locate, track and communicate with mobile assets, safeguard their fleets, cargo.
It's not surprising that Bolton, a war hawk, would be involved with a company prominent in the military-industrial complex. Bolton has been a vocal advocate for regime change in Iran, North Korea, Libya, and Syria.
He's joined on the venn by Ed Fortunato. According to his bio on the Orbital ATK website, “He served as the Secretary of the Army's representative to Congress for aerospace and defense weappon systems and for the develoopment and management of legislative strategy, acquisition and program policy.”
Another company Fortunato worked for, Crowley Maritime Corporation, included this information in his bio: “Prior to joining Crowley, Fortunato worked for the Logistics Management Institute providing transportation/logistics advice and analytical support to the Office of the Secretary of Defense.”

I am very appreciative to learn of his very deep ties to Honeywell and the Space-based weapons and communications systems that are being utilized in current warfare both abroad and within our own country.
