COOKING LESSON NO. 4 LET'S COOK A POPULAR FILIPINO DISH "KARE-KARE"

Good day everyone! Here we are again for another #cooking-lesson by me, myself and I, Lol ^^ and for my today's cooking lesson I will show you how to make one of the most famous dish in our country the "KARE-KARE".

What is Kare-kare?

Kare-kare is ussually made of pig's feet/trotters or stew beef meat with thick peanut butter sauce and different kinds of vegetables, kare-kare is the favorite food of many filipinos (including me), and mostly served in special occasions on our country like bario fiestas, birthdays and more...
Let's procced to our cooking lesson.

Cooking lesson no. 4 Let's Cook Kare-kare

Before we start cooking we need to make sure that all of the ingridients are all complete and the preparations we need for cooking are also done.

INGRIDIENTS

  • Pig's feet or Beef's meat (stewed) 500 grams
  • Peanut butter 100 grams
  • banana blossom/banana heart 1pc
  • green beans 5 strings
  • bok-choy/chinese cabbage
  • onion 1pc
  • chopped garlic 3 cloves
  • eggplant 3 pcs (medium size)
  • annatto/achuete powder 10 grams (dissolve in hot water)
  • cooking oil 5 spoon
  • salt 1/2 teaspoon
  • ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
  • MSG 1/4 teaspoon

PROCEDURE

20191024_100741.jpgFirst preheat the wok with 4 spoons cooking oil (medium heat) then saute garlic and onion until the color became golden brown.

20191024_100837.jpgthen put the pig's feet and saute for 5 minutes...

20191024_101440.jpgthen put 1/2 liter water then add 100 grams peanut butter and the dissolved annatto powder then mix and boil for another 5 minutes..

20191024_101659.jpgthen put the sliced banana heart and wait for another 1 minute..

20191024_102022.jpg then put the green beans on the wok and wait for at least 30 seconds

20191024_102747.jpg then put the eggplant, chinese cabbage, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of MSG then keep on boiling it for 2 minutes... and at last! it's done and ready to be serve...

sorry but our fourth cooking lesson is not easy unlike my first 3 cooking lessons but I can assure you that my fourth cooking lesson is worth it, Lol

Cooking kare-kare is not easy, right? but when you love what you are doing tough jobs becomes fun and challenging job to do...
