Contest winner announcement: Who won 10 Steem Power?
Last week I decided to host a small giveaway where one lucky winner could get 10 Steem Power. All you had to do to enter was to share a Steem or Steemit link to another website, so it was not hard at all to join in. After a week of running, the original post has reached payout, which means that the contest if officially closed, and it is time to select a winner!

In total 27 people joined in, and below is each of you, including the number that will be used for the random number generator that will select the winner. Google Docs don't want me to copy the list with the numbers, so that's the reason why it's an image and not text, but hopefully you can still read it.
As you can see, 8 people joined in after the reminder, leaving us with 27 participants and a 3.7 % chance to win for each of you. So, let's get to it!
The winning number
I used the Random Number Generator by Google, and as you can see, the winning number was 17.
This means that @mashiliyanage was the lucky winner! Congratulations

Me too. I don't get why more people don't join; it takes about 30 seconds if you do the easy thing and share it on Facebook/Twitter, it's free, and it is not a big hassle with upvoting, following, resteeming and that stuff. But I guess people are pretty lazy! Hehe

As I'm still in my learning mode I also have a question. The combined pay out from both post is higher than 10 steem. Can I conclude that hosting this contest also have you a small profit?
Of course it took probably quite some time. So if you also take your time sirens into account it's not really something significant. And you could have used upvote bots. For example what are busy.pay and Alexis?
Probably. I have no current plants right now, so we'll see :)
I did in fact get a profit from this giveaway, so it was a win-win for both me and the winner. But I did not know that I would get more upvotes than I would give away, and to be honest I did it to keep building my community and maybe even get some more followers. Busy.pay is upvotes given to anyone that blogs from https://busy.org/ instead of Steemit. Everyone should give @busy.org a try; it's a great interface for interacting with the Steem blockchain. I don't know who Alexis is to be honest, so I'm not even sure if it's a bot or a human.
