In the year 2010, the main bridge in Ventspils (Latvia) has been reconstructed! All the traffic was diverted to the next crossing! Nowadays the bridge has got colourful lighting and most of all it has become movable! It is considered to be the only bascule bridge in Latvia [1], hence, an attraction in itself! It has also become a popular place for fireworks on special occasions such as Christmas, New Year and independence day!

This was the view in January on my visit to my mom! I believe the columns were left untouched and only the top of the bridge was rebuilt.
