As you can see I am not that good with the funny guesses (unless they are by accident), but here are my attempts:

1. Sounds like someone doing something stupid or unwise
2. The picture of the pole looks more like a plank, but I am going to say normally it is a flag pole so it means paying attention to something?
3. The literal meaning makes it seem like preparing for rainy weather (get out your roof before it rains) but the picture makes it look like getting on top of the roof so you can see further or not close yourself off from the rest of the world.
