I was about to make fun of Mendo for liking Ride the Lightning, then I remembered "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "Fade to Black" were awesome songs...
True. Only Master of Puppets might have worked better with the theme of QITR. After all we are controlling Mendo's life.
