It's for a contest with a 150 word set limit. So that's the end of the line, I'm afraid. Allow your imagination to take you the rest of the journey :)
Well the title shot me back a few years to the Harlem train line in NY. Only the last 4 or first 4 cars unload at Valhalla and you'd better be standing at a door when the train stopped or you were continuing to the next town. The end of the line was definitely not Valhalla :-)
Wow, that's a peculiar anecdote. I love it. Has my writer's brain getting itchy with ideas.
LOL There's nothing like real life to inspire a twist of the imagination.
And especially the quirky anomalies that exist in real life. Those little details that grab the attention and make a writer think what if...
What if there was a gap between the train and the platform? What if there was an exceptionally steep set of stairs down to the ground level?
What if you miss that last call?
What if there were no taxis?
What if all the whole village was closed up tight for the night?
I could go on but it would require thinking a bit more ;-)
