Poor old Ireland. Consigned to play again in the qualifiers after what was always going to be a tough game against the high flying Danes. I think they can be proud of the hard-fought-for 1-1 draw and looking at the rest of the qualifiers, stand a very good chance of progressing to the finals anyway.

A couple of things from the contest yesterday, which no one won. I'd have spent all day transferring about 8 tokens each if 'Eriksson' had been the first goalscorer! Good old fashioned Danish name if ever I heard one, but the first goalscorer was actually the very Yorkshire sounding, Martin Braithwaite lol. I nearly wet myself laughing and had to google him so here he is....

His Dad is called Keith! OK. Bored now. I will research his family tree later because of course, I have nothing better to do!! This is the problem with the internet. It throws up more questions than it answers.

So for today, we are still using Euro Qualifying action and I've chosen the game between Scotland and Khazakstan with Scotland needing a result to progress through to the play-offs. The countries that are suddenly European....anyway.

Simply write the name of the FIRST GOALSCORER and the CORRECT SCORE as a comment. Competition closes 5 minutes before kick-off of the first game which is 19.45 GMT/UTC

In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll-over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goalscorer or correct score, the prize is shared and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 45 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved.
