Homesteaders Co-op Product Review Contest Winners
What a contest and what entries!
First, thank you to everyone that participated. This month was a record month for HSCO sales, so we want to thank all our supporters, customers, and vendors. You guys and gals rock.
Your entries were great and left the judges (@pennsif, @riverflows, and @nateonsteemit) with a lot to consider, we appreciate the effort that you all put into this.
Let's first look over the prizes and rules before we take a look at the entries:
The prizes
- @pennsif kicked it all off with his offering of 500SP delegations for two winners: one for a product from the US, and one for a product from anywhere else.
- @yabapmatt chipped in with FIFTY steem monsters booster packs (total value of $100) to be divided between all entrants.
- @nateonsteemit contributed 20 steem for shares of @steembasicincome to be divided up one share to the first ten entrants, and the remaining ten divided between the two winners. (Upped at the last minute to allow the two winners to each have 15 and other contributing entrants to each still have one)
The rules:
- Write a review for the product(s) you purchased at Homesteaders Co-op.
- Include what attracted you to buy from Homesteaders Coop vs buying from elsewhere
- Your review should include original, taken by you, photos of the product(s).
- Your purchase should be made after the time this post was written.
- Your review should be made as a steem post by the end of January.
- Your steem post should link to this post.
- You should also review the product(s) on the Homesteaders Co-op website to support your vendor(s).
Now that that's sorted, ladies and gentlemen, our five entries:
@owasco had the first submitted review, choosing to review seeds ordered from our dear @sagescrub at Seeds of Abundance.
Next was @jeffjagoe with his review of @mountainjewel's Blackberry plants.
@yogajill reviewed a tincture that she bought from @mountainjewel.
And @allyinspirit reviewed wool yarn that she bought from The Gentle Soul, one of @sagescrub's shops on the Co-op.
Soon after the contest launched, @squishysquid also reviewed mustard green seeds, sugar rush peach pepper seeds, and popcorn seeds that she bought from @papa-pepper over at the Pepper Family Homestead. While not a steem post, she did link the reviews in the original contest listing and the judges decided they'd count her reviews as an entry.
Take a minute to go read the reviews, especially if you're looking at purchasing those items or others from those vendors. They'll give a good idea of the vendors, the quality of their products, and the community surrounding HSCO.
We, the judges had a great time looking at the reviews and all the love from the HSCO community! As you may have noticed, all the products purchased were from US suppliers. As such, we modified the rules a tiny bit and changed the categories from US and international sellers, to US and international customers. That way we can still go with two prizes. It was also decided to let the winners choose between SBI shares and liquid steem.

I am over the moon excited that @pennsif, @riverflows, and @nateonsteemit have so honored my review. I wish to thank you all so much for making this whole contest possible.
It was really only such a short time ago that I met @sagescrub on Steemit ~ Initially because I was wanting to be able to find a way to set up a store on my Wordpress Blog. And then I became interested in his seed harvesting and then along came the Homesteaders Co-op and the pioneering vendors.
I can't praise @sagescrub enough for what he has opened out for all the verndors of the Co-op and their customers. The ability to purchase products with Steem/SBD will not only be beneficial for everyone within the Steemit community but will promote Steemit to others through all the various ways that 'social news' is shared ~ Both on and off-line.
Purchasing a product was an essential step in becoming a vendor myself now. And I feel such gratitude to Ann ~ Idyllwise and The Gentle Soul for the inspiration she has given me in presenting her creative products so artistically on the Homesteaders Co-op and her top class service in sending her beautiful hand-dyed wool yarn to me.
I don't have any SBI shares and I'd love to find out how they work ~ So I'd love SBI shares Nate. Thanks SO much @nateonsteemit.

Thanks so much @sagescrub. It's funny I haven't knitted for so long and really enjoyed it. Hand knitting seems to be almost a lost art ~ So I'm contemplating making some hand knitted products now as well as the paper objects.

The way it works is that you get shares in their voting power. Those shares will earn you upvotes from them for as long as you stay active. I've quite forgotten all the details of how it works, but that's the basics of it. When you buy a share, you tag another person in the memo, and they'll also get that many shares. A lot of people do swaps and prizes of SBI because it benefits two people with the transaction. Since you're picking that route, the Co-op will now get 15 shares as well :)

Thanks ever so much @riverflows. I really enjoyed the whole process of choosing a product from The Gentle Soul's store at the Homesteaders Co-op and buying it. The process was so streamlined. And I was so amazed at how quickly it arrived all the way from the US to Oz.
For me, like I tried to express in my review, it made all the difference in the level of my confidence to send my own products to the US. I'm so looking forward to being accepted as a Vendor of the Homesteaders Co-op now. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Yay! Steem monsters is easy, I just learned how also. Simply sign into steemmonsters.com with your steem account, then click on "Open". From there, instead of opening them you can send them.
