So I feel like I'm cheating by not making a post, but I have to pull myself away from the story that I'm writing at the moment. It is hard as hell to put myself in the mind of the character that is basically a prisoner in this guy's basement.
I don't know where the story came from, but decided that today's prompt of "wet" would be perfect, because the story certainly evokes plenty of reasons for crying. I wrote today's chapter (beginning with tears on the page of her notebook) and it took well over five minutes, but then I realized that I didn't want to share it. Yet.
I am keeping it to myself today and I know that will probably upset the few people who are reading the story, but I need to keep it close to myself for today.
At any rate, I suppose instead I will do my five minutes here. My five minutes about freewriting... and about wet. The tears on my face when I really let myself delve into this character or that character.
I wish to write a super short story with a morbid ending, but less heartfelt agony and rage, less hopelessness. I've always hated any type of suspense that felt... un-winnable. Like those movies/stories where the main character is being chased by some unbeatable being. Like Lord of the Rings. God, I hated that movie. I only watched part of the first one and had to leave. I KNOW that somewhere down the line, someone wins that battle, but I can't bear to watch the constant give and take, winning/losing/chasing/running/fighting... I hate it with a passion. It just feels like my nightmares come to life.
So here I am, where my freewriting brain seems to always fall back on something morbid and short... and yet now I'm in the middle of two longer stories. One being so normal and 'contemporary suspense-ish with a side of romance thrown in, doesn't really feel morbid or 'dangerous' persay, but it does take longer to tell.
And then, in trying to get out of posting short spurts of THAT every day, I ended up starting another too long story that is tearing me apart.
So I guess that's why today's freewrite isn't a story and is instead a freeflowing bit ABOUT writing freewrites, instead.
Ahhhh are those real tears from crying as you write??? I loved your freeflow. I'm also super surprised that you don't like too much suspense or I should say too many back and forths...because, with someone locked in a basement...I just figured it would feel so hopeless! Well, that's what I get for making assumptions!

Awww, @byn! Those are real tears! I can totally feel you today and wonder if it isn't something astrological or numerologically related to freewrite number twenty-four? But, here we are, posting our truth.
I think it's just the subject matter. Its delving into a lot of my childhood stuff again that I've avoiding digging into very much for the last long while. It'll be okay. I'm sure that anything astrological happening could definitely be exacerbating it, because I have felt especially affected by it lately! Thank you for the support. I hope you're doing okay with the intense emotions too!
Yes, I'm doing okay. Thanks for asking. In my experience childhood stuff just keeps on re-surfacing and I'm trying to be better about just allowing and accepting those emotions. You're brave to let the tears come and to share them here.
I've dealt with the bulk of stuff several times over the years, so I always think I'm "done" and of course it's never as bad as it was for the first few... 'waves' (along with dissociative identity disorder) but it does tend to catch me off guard occasionally.
Yes, I agree with you and the waves becoming easier to handle.

My wet foot selfie. Truly a freewrite for me today with dream wrapped up in the writing because I woke up after having a dream in which I run in to teach barefoot and all wet. Well, I guess they're all a freewrite, but feeling a bit slap-happy/nuts with all of these writings & the ways in which the prompt (this time) fit in to sleep time :) Here's to day 24!

I tried to find some fun photo filters, but I suck at that today, so I just tried to find a balance between looking like I was splashed with bird crap or blue paint. I kind of failed.
