My Entry To The Lyric Poetry Contest 29th Edition - Prompt: Coffee
My favourite colour, drink and hour
Always loved her melanin skin colour
She always held her drink with two hands
Sips a cup, sometimes more than an hour
She stirs the content of the cup
Inhaling the aroma
Smacks her lips as the air is filled with the fragrance
She holds on tight, avoiding a spillage
She hears soothing music as the coffee touches her lips
She could see clear skies whiles in the cafe
All she could think of was her past, life with her family
She would run across the fields under the autumn skies.
