Just a heads up: The Steemit logo is copyright / trademark protected
Any use of it requires written permission from the owners of the trademark.
The STEEM logo is public domain, but unfortunately the STEEMIT logo is not. Thought I would clarify that so you can avoid unwanted repercussions.

I have seen horror stories of infringement after a few years of freelance design. The sums that that sort of "issue" can cost are astronomical!

You would be surprised.. I'm not sure many are aware.
The rebrand was to distinguish the token (STEEM) from the company (Steemit).
• The Steemit brand is protected under international copyright / trademark laws & requires written permission for any use/purpose
• the STEEM icon, the original we have all come to know is public domain - it may be used and modified without permission and used commercially.
Where you run into trouble is when money is exchanged in any form, it skates a fine line of commercial use. Best to avoid using the Steemit logo because it's hard to say what the outcome might be. I honestly have seen a ton of people using it, but advise against it because they'll likely make someone an example at some point. 😁

Hey guys, Here is my entry to the Needle Work Monday contest, it’s a PNG file type, not really sure on anymore specs than that, sorry im not overly tech on specs, lol. I have also created a small article available here promoting this article and about my experience making the logo if you would like to know a bit more about that.
What I was going for here is kind of like a bit of a scout badge look or kind of like a family crest style. I thought that contrasting a more neutral outer logo and using what I call a “coloursplosion” in the centre would give the emblem the look of being official but fun to be part of. I hope this entry appeases the #NeedleWorkMonday gods 😊
