Hey all, just a reminder that a new theme for @jasonrussell's portrait contest has been announced. The theme for late December 2017 will be: PIN-UP!

Deadline is Friday 29th December. I will be reviewing entries as guest judge for the bi-weekly portrait contest.

PRIZES:
1st Place - 10 STEEM + 100 Whaleshares
2nd Place - 5 STEEM + 40 Whaleshares
3rd Place - 3 STEEM + 20 Whaleshares
Also, HONORABLE MENTIONS will receive 0.50 STEEM!

You don't have to be a professional photographer. Just give it your best shot. Be creative!

To enter, simply upload your pin-up style portrait to a Steemit post and use #portraitcontest as one of your tags.

WTF is PIN-UP?!

Essentially, pin-up style is glamour portaiture, but the term has more recently come to be associated with a satirical or nostalgic style which pays homage to the roots of pin-up in early 20th Century USA. Often, the subjects are wearing retro style hair or clothing, or there may be some reference to American life pre 1960s, including but not limited to Second-World-War activities. Obviously, interpret the theme however you wish. Your pin-up subject doesn't have to be female, or super skinny, or incredibly beautiful. Just have fun!
