My 2018 - This is my Hobby: Playing a guitar

First of all thank you to @anomadsoul for this contest, for sure its fun and i able to speak all out how passionate for what i do.

IT'S ME
Let me introduce myself at first i'am Arjimi and for just now im based at kota kinabalu sabah malaysia. So let's get started , my hobby is playing a guitar, it comes when im 15 years old. My first guitar i still remember how i buy it, you know how i buy it? 100% of my budget i collect it by collecting tin can and also i keep my school pocket money that given from my mum to achieve my dream.

Finally i got my first guitar!!! yes it an acoustic guitar!!! how excited iam that cannot be describe in single words! and...........i don't know play guitar!!! but it was about how i started to learn on it.

I still remember when it was a first year i learn guitar, i don't know where to start so i just playing it acting like i know to play it but in reality i don't even know how to strum on my guitar. After a month i gave up, just put my guitar at garage and do as a normal teenager. Until one day one of my senior come to my house having a coffee chill so only two of us starting an usual conversation , but suddenly he ask me if i interested to join their jamming session. So i would say yes! its a time for me to see how a guitar player do in a right way, after a years i learn more and more until i got a pace/technique to play yngwie malmsteem style.. haha but seriously mostly of my surrounding idolize to Malmsteem.

After 2 years i just play and play, it drives me very far but likely acoustic not enough range for me to shred. Until 2007 i still remember when it was my birthday, my father give me an electric guitar as a present for me to achieve my dream, only god knows how i feel by that time but most of all my friend know i need an amplifier to play it.. 😂 so thats how my guitar take my soul at the first sight.

HOW I IMPROVE MY SKILLS
Practice , practice , practice and practice until i achieved what i want , but there's a lot of tutorial video i learnt from youtube. One of my method also i find someone that who can become my guidance practicaly. Even with a pack of daily schedule but it's a must for me to practice guitar around 15-20 minutes to keep mantaining my hands performance.

WHEN HOBBY BECOMES PASSION
I don't know where should i started it, but it comes true in front of my eyes.

Those who don't know about HUJAN BAND, this is a indie rock band origin from malaysia was most phenomenal around 2005-until now, i still remember on 2008 see them at tv for final 'Anugerah juara lagu' i try to encourage myself one day to be like them and get one stage with them. Noh salleh is one of most influentalist vocalist HUJAN BAND in modern era for malaysian music scene and his guitar is one of my wishlist that i wanna buy too!!

GAMBLE MY LIFE
After finished my college studies in 2013, actually i got a call to accept my afterstudy job that already been arranged by my cousin, it took me a while to think about my future and financial, but guess what..... i reject it just because my passionate to continue playing guitar and be a musician that i want. I started from zero at other workplaces with a small amount of wages, i don't really care as long as i still be able to continue my dream.. just like gambling myself into casino. After a years i worked guess again what.. i buy a guitar same like Noh salleh. And i still keep dreaming to be one stage with them in a same flyers.

DREAM COME TRUE
Until 2017 after 9 years it's like miracle in a isle , my band ME GUSTA!! gonna be in same stage with them. there's no way back for what just im done here right now, 2017 is like stepping stone for me with my band to achieve more drama. But sadly guitar that i bought i had sell it due to support my younger sister, she had to pay college fees and im the only one brother who can help her, as supposed to be i never turn back and find another guitar that suitable my budget and i got second hand Squier Jaguar costly around $240.

ROCKTOBERFEST INVANSION
Without any hestitate we break the stage!! i never tought jaguar guitar become one of my next guitar journey. but its like GOD answer my pray since playing guitar just only a hobby, but thanks GOD fullfil my wish to continue my journey.

WHEN HOBBY BECOME PART-TIME JOB
And much more unexpected thing is my hobby become my part time job too!! hahaha seriously i never expect it!!
Okay let me explain how it could be one fine day, i just only do major service for on my guitar like any guitar luthier do. So i was doing it for myself it's because rather than i send it to guitar luthier, better i try it do by myself because it is free cost only i need to google and study how to do more proper servicing guitar.

MY INSTAGRAM
After i done, it's usual for any instagramers to update their status at instagram right? so it just a normal post actually, but i got received many feedbacks that wanna to try out how was my service, so i take it as a new challenge to do servicing guitar that not usual for me and i only take half price from what a certified luthier do. Day after day more and more positive feedback i got and sometimes there's also who not satisfied , but i keep it as a lesson for me to do more better. My instagram

MORE GUITAR
For now, there are 4 guitar i collect. A jaguar, jazzmaster,Telecaster and Stratocaster, where i got my fund for it? from all the guitar that i had ever serviced it. I never tought myself that i can collect much more than one.. 😂🤛 Hit me please!!

2018
I dive into deep ocean and just keep on going wether inside of it much more dangerous and more challenging since i already put myself to be a musician from the first only because playing guitar it is just a hobby, but now that gonna be something different.

Those who have a dream since at first it just a hobby, encourage yourself to catch your dream but without all of your hardwork, you will never get anything.

I started my hobby from scratch, and now it becomes one of my part time job , not simple as that but who cares when hobby
it is one of your passion. Hobby you can buy it, but not passion, it's totally priceless. I take more than 10 years to achieve what i want so those dreaming on it, stay still and keep ongoing then you will see it!
