The Build: The House: Front Siding and Details.

So we are making great progress. Here is an update on the exterior finishes on the front of the house we are buiding for the Silver Fox. We are very pleased with how it is looking so far. I hope you like it!
Buildling a little roof above door with timber knee braces.
1.5" tongue and groove fir boards.
Front wall where garage door will go. We used Siga House wrap from Switzerland. Almost all other house wrap is garbage. Do NOT use tyvek or typar or any large company branded house wrap IT DOES NOT BREATHE, well enough.
Trimmed out door frame with smart trim. 1" eps foam on garage. 2" on rest of house for added R-Value. Around grage and front door is going to be rock so we screwed on more sheathing to hold it. Remember to screw into studs about every 12 inches. That rock is heavy!
Rainscreen going on. I strongly advise doing this with any siding application. Front entry sheathed. So by front door is wall/siga wrap/2" foam/ .5" osb sheathing.
Bellyband and trim flashings installed. Started horizontal siding.
Some bad ass stained 1 x 8 tongue and groove fir boards with Sansin Enviro Stain for siding above belly band.
The Silver Fox chainsawing the end of the timber beam off! Epic. We built the house next door last year.
Soffit! It is all the same wood as the siding t & g, but we used light walnut danish oil for a finish.
Little roof over door, siding and soffit complete!
Front entry rock complete. It looks amazing!
This is the South Side. It is the feature exterior wall. We still have the top of the chimney to do, also in the brown wood. And the front deck and stairs. Deck will be cedar boards, timber stair treads.
And this is the finished front with the rock around garage door. And just this past week we got the driveway paved!
