Planned Obsolescence

in #conspiracy6 years ago (edited)

What is it, is it a real thing or some mad made up? Unfortunately it is true and all of us are victim of this marketing method. It started from the days of industrial revolution. Machines could make perfect goods for use and the goods had really long life at the beginning. İs it a coincidence or good enginering and desing?
Nowadays planned obsolescence is a part of our lives. Has your phone died suddenly without any error or your computer starts to crash after 2 years? Thanks god we have customer rights law almost in every country it protects us in a way but firms are not stupid. Generally customer right law protects customer for 2 years. If you have been witnessed a device got broken 25th month of purchase you understand what i mean.
The long life goods are not imaginary we used to had them. Remember that old jeans quality and compare them today's manufactered goods or the things from your family use for over 10 years. Can we give/save something for our children more than 5 years old?
Technology is more advanced today but the quality of the producst -no matter which brand it is- has reduced by producers to make more profit.
We are all buying producst which set up to death at exact time. At last, as most of you knows, Apple accept that they reduced the performance of iphones to sell new models and apologized for it. But did they changed something? Of course no. Everything is about consumption and how much we are spending for basic needs.
If you are interested in this topic, i recommend to you to watch "Light Bulb Conspiracy". It is a documentary about planned obsolescence . Also for more informaiton you can read ; http://awarenessact.com/planned-obsolescence-the-products-you-buy-are-designed-to-break/
