after gaming solidly I had:
a 12+ boost of defense from a nanofibre vest
eleven GPU's (I have yet to find a use for)
ten dropping chests (via their profile page, thank you)
a .9 SPF (which I need to boost up higher)
eight of Lady Ada's nifty pocket revolvers
seven random rolls of wire
six weird-looking condensers
five shotguns of multiplied chastisement
four upcoming battles
a lowly three constitution (uh-oh!)
a two (thousand) point boost in experience
and the most special gift of all -
one extremely rare
holy private key!

Still have no idea how to level up or get items or where to find other level 1's lol
You have come to the right place to ask such good questions, my worthy opponent.
Levelling up happens simply by being logged into the game and continuing to do things around the Steemit site, as well as challenging other players to battles. Simple. :)
Here is a list of players, with their levels noted. I'd keep it handy. Clicking on a name takes you to their profile page, from where you can issue your battle cry. :D

Thank you! And must i have the extension open to get the items or can they be collected even when I don't have open the sidebar?
It doesn't have to be open, but you do have to be logged in. You can check simply by clicking on the extension icon, but each time you go to a new Steemit page you'll get the profile opening.

It really is super-easy to set up, and play. :)
Set it up, challenged three people, and got totally confused by it saying that the duel would be in 2 hours. I thought it meant the battle didn't start till then :P Oh well, maybe tomorrow ;)
Ah yes, that is a little confusing at first. All action goes on (currently at least) behind the scenes, and you simply get a notification as to whether you won or not - as you've probably found out by now because I think we've had a battle?
Anyway, while the game is still in beta mode the battles are in fact shorter than the 2 hours - about 1 hour I think. What you need to do by 'preparing' is be active on Steemit until then, which is what counts and builds up your points. On your profile, the SPF (steempunkfactor) bar is what shows just how active you've been lately. (I think posting gives you the biggest boosts.)
