To lead is not just to influence. To lead is to be influenced, too.

People would ask me, "Why?" Despite being so busy, amidst the hardship and struggles I am currently experiencing, trying to survive and achieve the maintained figures, I still joined JPIA and ASL. I always answer them, "Because I want to know how to run an organization. I want to know the untold struggles of a leader just to make things done for the members. I want to know how it feels to serve."
But recently, I realized and discovered the greatest reason: It is to be happy just by looking how happy your masters because they are satisfied on how you serve.

It was December 2, 2016 when we finally hold our positions and accepted our responsibilities as leaders in our organization. After the election where the members voted their 17 chosens, the 17 candidates who gained the highest votes were the new set of officers. Then we had given the right to choose the position we wanted to hold. And I chose to be the Vice President for Audit.

This was taken during our Leadership Training Seminar facilitated by the outgoing officers. It was fun and I learned many things. We became close to each other and started to give our trust and devotion. During this activity, I realized that trust is a big word as well as sacrifice. Though some people think that leaders should be selfish first in order to be selfless, but along our journey, we had done the opposite. We sacrificed a lot in order to give comfort and serve our members well.

This was our official info graphics for the College Days 2017. These days were our chance to raise funds for the organization. We sold shirts (like what you see below), did face painting, movie house, and photo booth.

These students were from Maritime Department who availed our photo booth.

We also conducted a Stock Knowledge Seminar and invited two guest speakers. The guest speakers talked about how stocks works and encouraged the JPIANs to invest in stocks.

This picture was taken during the seminar together with one of the speakers.

9.jpg

We also offered tutorials for our members who were having hard time to catch up to their lessons.

10.jpg

This was the Industry Forum with known people from the industry. We tackled about the development and progress of the Accountancy program in the business world and how our members could keep up with the competition.

11.jpg

This was during our pre-Qualifying Exam. This exam would determine if we could proceed to the higher level or not. Every year, we do this to evaluate the students.

12.jpg

This was the Corporate Social Responsibility of our organization. We chose the adopted barangay of the university and gave the elementary students school supplies as they enter another year of school.

13.jpg

With the help of the Cebu Federation and Punong Bayan, the event was successful and we received big smiles from the students as well as their parents who were also oriented on how to make their own business.

The annual Intercampus Quizbowl participated by three universities in Cebu was held in our school. We, the officers, were to organize this event and gladly, we successfully made it.

Of course, with the help of SGV and P&A who gave us medals and prizes for the winners.

This was during the opening of the Accountancy Week 2017. Members of the JPIA attended and supported their own universities.

Dancers for the Dance Palabas for the three UCs.

A happy picture for our organization, despite our failure to 'bring home the bacon', we were still thankful that we did our best and we made a step forward.

The CBA Summit 2017 organized by our mother organization, CBEX, in Camp Lapu-Lapu.

We offered free snacks for the JPIANs who joined the summit.

These were the medals and trophy we won during the Academic Quizbowls for Intramurals 2017.

Our official tagline:

#UCLMJPIAIntensify : Defining Reality. Defying Uncertainty. Achieving Excellence with Great Intensity.

And ending the journey of the servant leaders means that there's another journey to start, wait, to continue rather. After a year of service, another batch of officers were given the responsibilities of taking care of the whole family. The past officers are hoping that they would move forward and would surpass what the past officers had achieved.

As part of the new set of officerss who are aiming to continue the legacy of the past years of success and happiness, I can only say,

"For the love of JPIA, lahat makakaya!"
