What is the reason behind your upvotes?

in #community9 years ago (edited)

It's easy to think that everyone else think and act the same way as you do yourself. I don't beliave that.
I would love to know the reason behind your votes.

Please come up with your answer before you read the comments :)

One more thing, do you vote for the same reason that you think others should vote for? hehe
(my answer on that one, for me, is no) :P

I'm very splitted myself, I got many reasons that I upvote for, first, If I find anything I enjoy, that is not stolen or spam, I will make a upvote.
Also, if I find that someone have posted something that he or she have put in a lot of time in, I will upvote it. Even if I don't really understand it.
I also upvote to be seen by others, but only on comments and posts that I agree with or think is well done and good for the community.
More or less, I want to give a positive feedback to people who deserve it.
And being a minnow right now, I share a lot of upvotes. My votes don't give much, but hopefully a little boost for the mood ^^

I will probably have to change later if I get bigger than a little minnow.

Overall my reason is to inspire you to keep doing what you are doing. I never give any thought to why others do what they do because that has nothing to do with my intentions. And also if you get my attention while I am browsing Steemit, and you touch my heart, inspire me, make me cry, leave me wishing that your post was a few paragraphs longer because your content is so good I can't break away and don't want to say good bye, you best believe, I'm following, upvoting and resteeming to spread your gift with high hopes that others will have the same experience if not greater that I just had. That's my reason for upvotes.

I really like your detailed and well put comment, I agree with everyting you said, you got great reason behind your upvotes :D

If everyone did as you do, the world would be a better place, at least Steemit ^^

If I consider the content original is the major influence. From there it's a judgement based and quality and content. I don't flag unless it's serious b.s. (like the kid standing in a bath tub post).
I think everybody votes for their own specific reasons (some only to upvote an alt account, for example).

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it :)

Maybe I just found the answer, I really recommend to read this post https://steemit.com/steemit/@htliao/why-i-think-99-of-steemians-get-the-wrong-ideas-about-curation-rewards

I'm starting to undertand Steemit a little bit more now :)

I vote for rewarding author

I'm more interested in the "reason behind" who to reward, thanks for the reply :)
