Drop in the Ocean : [006#] DEDICATION
The irony!
We're back once again for another week of Drop in the Ocean and it's going to be a fairly special week! You're going to think that this is Hook 'Em Up because we've only got three posts to feature this week. Not to worry, this is good news for the members who presented on Monday because they're all going to receive a level up!
Next weeks topic is going to be exciting and hopefully, it'll bring some of our BuddyUP artists into the mix! Read on to find out how you can get involved with BuddyUP and the Drop in the Ocean show.
I will be stripping out some of the usual text bodies which describe the voting process to avoid confusion for anyone finding us for the first time today. If you'd like to find out about this you can visit this post for a better breakdown. I've just realized that because of the 0 votes this week, I'll have to choose a winner for the resteem this week. I'll explain my reasoning in the feature.
Have you heard? Everybodies heard...
We had a slower week and a slight bit of confusion when it came to the topic and times of the show, but we still had an interesting show and after-chat with our members. Next week will be a lot smoother that's for sure...
While chatting in the after-chat of the show, we decided to promote the show more throughout the server. This will be in the #updates channel on a Friday, from time-to-time in #the-pond and as usual on a Sunday in the weekly update post.
We also talked about adding inspirational posts related to the topic of the week in our posts, so I think we will add another little segment to our Hook 'Em Up post. It feels fitting and much-like the winners of Hook 'Em Up, we will send a little reward to the authors for their inspiration!
Now that's out the road, let's see the three winners for the week!
@tamala
First up, and the winner of the resteem this week, is @Tamala. She took to the fiction stage this week after deciding to steer away from the health route and boy did she do a fantastic job! For her first attempt at fiction, she managed to encapsulate the topic of the week in a short story which stirs up a mixture of emotions. She delivers on many levels and leaves room for questions, discussion, and debate (and not to mention praise!).
She mentioned in the BuddyUP server how she was inspired by @monch and @dreemsteem for this piece of writing after reading and being a part of their fictional writings. It's a joy to see members growing alongside each other and inspiring one another to try different things.
Looking down at this little tiny thing that looked more like a shrunken old man than a baby. Her heart was tossed out to sea and she couldn't find solid footing. Now what?
As well as the inspiration from other members of the community, @tamala also found influence from this incredibly hard-hitting and eye-opening post by @conficker.
If you'd like to check out @tamala's wonderful first shot at fiction you can visit it here. Don't forget to leave your thoughts in a comment for her!
@poetrybyjeremy
Do we have a potential Guru in our midst? Our incredibly loyal member @poetrybyjeremy has been dishing out wisdom and inspiration left right and center this past week. This post breaks down Dedication into its meaning and the process that is usually evident when you represent a dedicated mind and body. He breaks down the individual traits well and shares personal experiences to express how dedication has shone in his life.
The happiest people need not necessarily be the most famous, best-selling and high-achievers in materialistic manners. The happiest people are those who enjoy the activities they dedicate their time to.
Within the post, @poetrybyjeremy also shares some information about the books of poetry that he's published. The most notable and Steemit famous of the two is Welcome to the Sombre Days. Yeah you heard that right... Steemit famous, all the cool kids are reading it!
If you're interested in the truths that @poetrybyjeremy has been sharing, you can visit the post he presented on the show and get involved in the comment section!
@monchhichi23
We all love to see @monchhichi23's posts appear in the Drop in the Ocean feature! She's blazing the trail to the first person to reach the highest level! With damn good reason too, her posts are always improving and expressing elements of herself each and every time. This time around, it's a look into parenthood and the dedication from herself and her son over the years they have been growing together.
Relatable to some and an experience for all, this post illuminates some of the road bumps and struggles that run parallel to being a mum with a gifted son.
Every single week, @monchhichi23 has presented a post for Drop in the Ocean and continued to stay dedicated to the community throughout. The improvement in her writing is evident and it's great to know that the community has a part to play in her growth here on the platform. I have my fingers crossed that she can make it up to level 4 in DITO!
Are you ready to visit the post and let @monchhichi23 know what you think? Do it! I'm sure she'd love the feedback.

How do you get involved?
Have you been reading through and wondering how you can get involved with our community/show? Below I've listed the steps to take, so you can jump into the action and share your perspective and views, with all of us here at BuddyUP.
Head over to our BuddyUP server. You can do this by following the SafeLink post here.
Think about the topic for next week, which is...
- Write a post about that topic and come by to the Drop in the Ocean show on Monday (20:00 GMT) to present it and join the conversation.
If you are new and you don't have a membership to BuddyUP, you will receive free access if you present in Drop in the Ocean.
The final and the most important piece of information is... do not publish your post until Monday. This is so we can give you all the best amount of exposure possible on your posts and also so you get paid out on the day of the show; so you can come back with an even bigger smile on your face!
You can come and speak to any of us in #the-pond (general chat channel in our server) or if you have any further questions, you can direct message myself or @penderis, and we will get in touch with you!
Oh! @lymepoet, did you think I missed it?
Although she did miss the cut-off date for being featured in the post, the dedication to the community and show is extremely evident when I spotted this post in our tag anyway, regardless of it being part of the show. @lymepoet is a fantastic writer and it's always a joy to see her work in the BuddyUP channels/show. We can't forget those who are constantly engaging because...
Way to support your group and show love!
Thanks bud. It's a lot of fun and such a great opportunity to learn. It feels nothing like work!
