Phill from GCHQ - page 47 - Second part

in #comics6 years ago (edited)

Here is a preliminary frontpage to the next part of Phill from GCHQ. It is in black and white to match the website, but when we hopefully reach a printed version of this second album it will of course be in colour. From next week the story will continue - I have keept the continuous numbering as it will be that way on the website too. Hope you like the Noir-mood. Sometimes I find it funny to picture Phill in the style of a classic spy-comic.

Second partt - Page 47 of the cartoon about Phill from GCHQ - a free comic that I have been working on since September 2016.

Thanks to @vcelier there is a French translation, and thanks to @shortcut there is a German translation - new pages are published on their respective Steemit pages.

Haha! Great that I am not the only Tintin interested here. Yes, it is! And the reason I got the idea was that Gwen is reading The Seven Crystal Balls on page 24 - an album full of strange and mysterious events that is only comprehensible, when you read the next album. Looking at the first 46 pages they are a bit like that... and so...

Been looking forward to see the finished page. Since I come from graphite pencil, I like the "noir" very much! I'm persuading my brother to do a translation into Spanish, but so far he's been to busy. Since I just read a great post by @erh.germany about rejection, I figure, I just have to stay persistent.. :-)

OK! I am looking for a person who could do the Spanish translation, actually. We'll have to talk about that...

I really wish, this could work out. I told him about steemit right after I signed up, but he never did anything with it. Just wrote him again to get him to recognize the opportunity. Maybe if there was a real "task", and he'd be in a "community"... if you really are looking for someone to do a Spanish version, I'll talk to him again.

I look forward to seeing this in color, although I am partial to black and white when an artist has a brush stroke as pleasant as yours, which is reminiscent of what you would see in Crumb's Fritz the Cat. My 3 favorite comics all started out in Black and White and later went color: Scott Pilgrim, Bone, and Cerebus. They all had great ink strokes as well. Scott Pilgrim found the perfect colorist and the book was improved by the coloring (although I still love it in Black and White). Bone is better in B&W. I'm not sure if Cerebus was published in color or if that was a fan edit/contribution I saw somewhere.

I have been working on a coloured version. Just posted it.

There is some kind of clash between line and colouring that is not always ideal. It is two different ways of creating depth.

"Noir". A lot of people try this style/genre, so few succeed. Your finished page looks spectacular.

I just love that kind of works. Man, i still remember Sin City.

It is a kind of a joke when I put Phill into these scenes. He is not really a James Bond, not even a Harry Palmer. But I do like Sin City too.

good writing I like. expand the work again, and more articles. hopefully a little science that you provide useful to the reader

very interesting post...
thanks for sharing it...
upvoted and followed..!!!

I flag Spam-comments like yours which is quite according to consensus here on Steemit. As my reputation is much higher than yours it does not harm me much, but it is still a bad idea to flag my post for revenge. If you had done this to a less friendly person he or she might flag our profile to smithereens.

Haha, this is so ridiculous that I won't flag you - thanks for the laugh.
