Get ready to put on your Halloween costume or that cosplay sitting in your closet this weekend on Saturday, October 29th. Head to your local comic book shop to grab yourself some free comic books! Every year participating locations, and that includes many shops outside the U.S.A., celebrate Halloween Comic Fest! The reason this exists is plainly because comic books are the best and more people should enjoy them. No really, that is basically why this is here. Publishers know they may gain a new reader by giving away a great story and art, and comic book shops like you in there stores, and if you like free stuff, then win win win.

Big names like Marvel and DC as well as smaller independent comic book publishers get together and print up tons of free comic books just for the event. Spider-Man, Scooby Doo, Evil Dead, Darth Vader, lots of free stories from characters you know will be available. Depending on your local comic book shop (check their Facebook, Twitter, social media etc), there is usually raffles and contests, face painting, food, and other things going on.
