Ron White (Netflix stand-up) - Not for the easily offended, but really funny stuff
The real name of the special is Ron White: If you quit listening, I'll shut up but that seemed too long for the title. This has been available since 2018 apparently but never popped up on my radar until yesterday.
Man oh man am I glad i watched it.

I normally get bored of stand-up pretty easily, especially if i am not familiar with the comic or their lead in's take too long. I knew who Ron White was, but wasn't really familiar with his style and most of his bits take less than a minute to set up.

He drinks booze and smokes cigars during most of his bit and a lot of his comedy is about being an unapologetic alcoholic as well as a bit of a misogynist.
For those of you out there that are kind of fed up with the politically correct world that we live in now, well, Ron White obviously doesn't care about that and goes straight for the jugular on many PC "forbidden" topics.
Unsurprisingly, the professional reviews of this special are mostly negative and call him racist, bigoted, misogynistic, and all the other keywords that people like to use towards anyone these days that doesn't tow the PC line.
It's comedy, it's not a university lecture or advice for your kids. I am sure there are lot of people out there that share my sentiment when I say that the primary reason WHY i liked this so much is because it wasn't PC at all.
This one hour resulted in some of the loudest laughter that my current living room has ever had and it made me late to meet my friends for drinks. I wasn't even sorry.

I couldn't actually find a good trailer clip for this special because there is a lot of subject matter than would be NSFW in this special. I wouldn't watch this around your kids if you have any either, or your parents. Actually, if you or the people around you are easily (or even not easily) made uncomfortable, it is probably best if you watch this alone.
It is so non-PC and opposite of the usual stuff I expect from Netflix that I am actually surprised they decided to make this special. I guess they throw conservatives a bone every now and then ;)

I must admit I stay away from American comedians as I have not found one I really rate as I find the humor too basic. I will give Ron a try though as he sounds different.
I remember when the blue collar comedy guys first came out. It was Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. Larry was pretty annoying to me at the time, but I feel the other three stand pretty well on their own. Jeff's "you might be a redneck if" and Engvall's "here's your sign" have become pretty classic. If I never hear "git er done" again I will be fine! :) I think these guys including Ron White did a really good job of claiming the stereotypes of Southern Hillbillies and owning them. I don't know if anyone else could have pulled it off. Kind of like when a black person makes jokes about black people. You couldn't just have any white guy off the street telling those jokes.
i feel the same way about Larry the Cable Guy, he was funny but yeah, it got old pretty fast. I remember when he was in a couple of movies that bombed and now i think he does some sort of travel show for Discovery or something.
Ron White said in this special that Jeff Foxworthy outsold Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor combined. I found that pretty amazing because comedy records and tapes sold extremely well back in the day. I knew Jeff had hit the big time, but I didn't realize he made it that big. Someone will probably find the fact that Ron Said that to be racist. Actually, it is almost certainly already happened :P
Wow, those have to be some impressive numbers. Between the four of them my favorites are bill and ron. You should check out Bill Engvall if you havent seen him.
He vuelto, tenia tiempo sin ver tus post...
