Empathy and understanding isen't the same; most of us need and want empathy soo bad. As it involves identifying with what someone else is feeling additionally, actually feeling those feelings yourself.

Many often use Empathy & Sympathy interchangeably, but they are, in fact, two different processes. When you feel sympathy for someone, you identify with that situation that the person finds him self in.
Sympathy doesn’t actually connect you to the person or what he or she is feeling. You can be sympathetic to someone’s situation while being completely clueless about his feelings and thoughts. Sympathy dont get you to react except, giving some pennies when you see pix of abused dogs set to weepy music on the tv
& to know somebody can understand you without even liking you.”

The emotional process called empathy is something else; it involves identifying with someone is feeling & actually feeling those feelings yourself.
Sympathy is feeling for someone; empathy IS feeling with them.
Capacity for empathy is diffrent between people BUT it is always a learnt behavior.
The more connected you are to your own emotions, the greater your ability to feel empathy for others. Once you realize that empathy has a cognitive component

        i sure could use some of that empathy, right about NOW < slamms her head bloody agenst the wall
        i cant log inor keep logged into schools library ADD my classmates took a 360 on me for this weeks job & im sitting here like WTF?? just went down LOL so ya pore that cooffeee Il be over ASAP ;) LOL
