Alley Agate, Cairo Novelty, Peltier Glass. M.F. Christensen Glass Toy marble Identification..Examples part 1.
I am going to share with you some of my collectibles and try to help you with identifications of some of yours. MARBLES are a big hobby of mine and I enjoy collecting them and trying to learn more about their history and identification. There are a lot of folks a lot smarter than me on this but I am learning. I also consult with Robert Block on occasion for helps on identification.
these pictures were taken with a FUJI FINEPIX S 14 MP Camera.
Examples of simple ALLEY AGATE two color swirls
This example is from the Cairo Novelty Company. Notice the 'layers" to the bands inside the marble.
The Following are Examples Of Peltier Rainbo, "baseball" style. the first is a Bloodie Hybrid :
This next one is a Rainbo SUNSET. Notice the large chunk of "debris" in the center of the marble.
Here is another one:
The following are Akro Agate Striped Onyx or SLAG marbles. most are from the 1930s
This one ( above) has a lot of extra white as opposed to more of the clear base. generally it is the opposite.
now notice the distinguishing swirl of the this very early Akro Agate. it has the M.F., Christensen and Sons Slag marble 9 but does not have a seam.. from around 1920 i think
This example BELOW is a beautiful example of an Akro Agate Striped Onyx Swirl. Extremely clear glass and a very rambling swirl.

Why would the value of my post slowly decrease. When you first upvoted me is was . 35. Now it is .29 with no down votes
Because the price of steem is going down.
Ok thank you very much.... I appreciate the help and the Upvotes..
We all used to love playing and collecting marbles in little school during late 80's. After i got good and won quite a few. I started to lend marbles to other good players, they would have to split the winnings with me or pay me back or get the beats😃. My marble pot grew huge. When i left for high school i sold them all to a friend for $100. By the next summer marbles died, kids were "gambling" so parents and teachers put a end to it. And i havent seen kids play since. Very sad.
If you ever get a chance try to get from one of the marble shows they have old players there and a lot more new ones than you might suppose. Pretty serious stuff LOL.
Not much drawing a circle in the sand anymore... Thanks for viewing and upvoting. I am really trying for content that can help and entertain and minister.. Thanks again
