Colourful Flower Parade!
Garden Centres are some of the prettiest places to go especially if you time it right. The great thing is you can go to one place to find some of the prettiest flowers that you wouldn't normally find growing at the side of the street. There is a possible issue, however. If you start doing strange things in the centre, like clambering around the flowers to get to the nice one or even lying down to get a different angle while trying to get good photos, you may get asked to leave.
As I'm doing macro and the petals are all different distances this requires the aperture to be around 15+ if I want to keep all the layers from blurring into the background. When the aperture is high you tend to need more light, so in order to get good clarity of the layers if it's still dark with the ISO up as high as quality will allow, I turn the shutter speed down. With the shutter speed being low you can't always get it clear without a tripod and even with a tripod on windy days it will still blur if the flower is bouncing back and forth.
Trying to make your flower photos unique is an interesting challenge because so many people take photos of flowers so you might want yours to stand out. These are all some of the current things I'm working on.
Normal shots of flowers
This one has a bit of shadowing and I feel it might have looked better without that.
The effect of the shadowing on this one I actually quite like. I particularly like how the light shines through the back petals.
A bit plain and boring, but still alright
Macro close up on flower petals (why not)
A few blemishes on the petals not perfect
Needs work
There has been a family debate on whether the ant is dead or alive on this one.

My Personal Favourites
It looks so soft and fluffy
The raindrop on this one I love and it almost looks like its glowing

Got distracted and edited this from the flower above
Little birdie spotted at the flower garden as soon as I took my long zoom lens off!
I don't know if we have indoor flower place in alaska, but plenty of greenhouses, and public flower beds to take pictures of. Sadly our flower season is closing out pretty fast. The raindrop soft purple one is my favorite of the bunch.
We don't get many pretty native flowers here in South Australia as they have to survive quite a lot of the heat. Most of the nice flowers that you see here have to be watered quite a lot to survive. It's the heat that is more of the problem here than the cold :)
What a beautiful bunch of photos. Yes u are right a garden center would be a great place to photograph a selection of flowers y I wouldn’t necessarily see elsewhere - great idea... if the staff don’t mind as your u say. 😉🍀🌴🌈💛🦋
It's great you just have to watch that none of the flower tags/labels get in the way :)
