Color Challenge - Indigo Saturday - Indigo Milky Mushroom

Indigo Milky - Lactarius indigo

I found these beauties on a walk through our woods some years ago. It amazes me that mushrooms come in blue!

Cap - 2-6" wide, dark blue fading to pale gray-blue.
Gills - Attached
Stalk - 3/4-3 1/4" long, 3/8-1" thick
Spore print - Cream
Found from July to late October on the soil in oak and pine woods. Found from Eastern North America to Michigan and Texas.
