📸ColorChallenge: SevenDaysSevenColors - My whole week summed up - Spoiler: I made my first 100$ on Steemit! 💰
A Summary of my #ColorChallenge Week
7 days 7 colors
ThursdayGreen
I started the #ColorChallenge on a Thursday, mainly just because I had finally started to play around with steemit.com after lurking around since October last year.
I didn't even know what the original ColorChallenge by @kalemandra was. I saw a bunch of people uploading green pictures, I was looking for something to post myself and I happened to have a nice green shot taken for a desktop background a few years back in my aunts garden in Austria.
There it was, my first #ColorChallenge post: Austrian Dew.
FridaySkyBlue
The next day I continued playing around on steemit. I needed something else to post and the previous entry had gathered a hand full of upvotes and a few cents of potential payout... not too bad!
I checked the #ColorChallenge tag and saw that people are posting blue images today. That's fine, I have a blue desktop background, too. So why not post another #ColorChallenge: Bubbly
SaturdayIndigo
In the meantime I had finally discovered @kalemandra's original ColorChallenge post. You have to finish what you start, right?
But Indigo?! To be honest, I wasn't even sure what kind of color indigo was exactly and had to google that first!
Ok, a blueish purple... At first I thought I didn't really have any pictures in that tint, so I started digging in my older photographs. I found one in my deviantart gallery. It was part of a whole series of images I took of a lone tree on the horizon against the sky.
To make my post a bit more interesting i additionally posted the whole series in it: The Lone Tree
I didn't expect what happened next. Up to this point I had earned a few cents on steemit and I could count my upvotes per post on two hands easily. That's ok, I wasn't really expecting much.
The Lone Tree Series changed the game when it attracted some bigger fish to my post. It started when @okkiedot upvoted and resteemed the post. My first bigger upvotes started coming, and a lot of them came! Until today the post has gained 228 upvotes and payouts of $112.54.
I want to thank all who have resteemed this post: @okkiedot, @kalemandra, @olga.maslievich, @sochul and @ainiaziz. A big THANK YOU also goes to my top upvoters: @curie, @kushed, @donkeypong, @hendrikdegrote, @anwenbaumeister, andandand of course to everyone else who left their votes and their comments.
Just WOW!
SundayPurple
It was Sunday and after indigo, there was purple! Are you kidding me?
If the previous post hadn't been such a huge success, I would have probably quit the challenge. I really had no clue what to post for purple. But I had to keep them coming now. I couldn't just quit after already being rewarded so richly!
I started looking around the flat for something purple and luckily found this old purple cloth-bag with a funny print on it. I snapped a quick pic with my old BlackBerry... Yeah! That would make for a great thumbnail at least: Muffins Are Friends
MondayRed
Another day, another color. And again, red wasn't something I could easily find. All my previous posts featured the challenged color very prominently. I couldn't just use any picture with something red in it, it had to be a red picture!
In the end I could locate an image I had taken on a trip to Istanbul on my harddrive. It was just a random sign of some bar but it was very red: dem bar
TuesdayOrange
This was going to be easy. I had already spotted some candidates in my deviantart gallery when I had looked for the "Lone Tree".
I posted the most orange image along with another very orange one: Afrika
WednesdayYellow
The final day of my #ColorChallenge. Again it was an easy pick from my old deviantart gallery.
Some yellow ventilation pipes at the Sim Lim mall in Singapore with 2 bonus images in the post: Sim Lim Breathes
And that concludes my week with the #ColorChallenge.
It was great fun to be compelled to come up with something everyday and I am glad I stumbled into it the way I did.
I found a lot of old pictures I had almost forgotten about again. I enjoyed some good memories along the way and felt the positive feedback of you fine steemians while being generously rewarded. Now isn't that just too good to be true?! It isn't! Welcome to steemit I guess ;)
Thanks @kalemandra for starting this challenge and a big THANK-YOU for all the upvotes and kind words I have received from everyone else.
